En règle générale, il n'est pas possible de choisir une classe de billets lorsqu'on voyage en van. Vous pouvez cependant vérifier auprès de l'opérateur et/ou choisir le type de van que vous souhaitez parmi ceux qui desservent votre itinéraire. Certains vans ne peuvent accueillir que 9 à 10 passagers, d'autres jusqu'à 15 voyageurs. Dans le premier cas, vous aurez sûrement plus d'espace pour vos jambes, des sièges plus larges et plus de confort. - Les vans peuvent généralement vous conduire à des destinations où ni les bus ni les trains ne circulent, notamment des villes secondaires et des petits villages.
- La plupart du temps, les vans sont le moyen le plus rapide d'atteindre votre destination si vous voyagez sur des distances relativement courtes par voie terrestre, simplement parce qu'ils sont plus petits et plus maniables que les bus.
- Les vans peuvent vous permettre de descendre à un endroit plus pratique pour vous en cours de route, pas nécessairement au terminus, ce qui peut vous faire gagner beaucoup de temps et d'argent dans certains cas.
Inconvénients du Voyage en Van
- Vous pouvez vous sentir plutôt à l’étroit dans certains vans, avec un espace disponible limité pour les bagages. En fait, presque tous les vans offrent un espace limité pour les bagages, donc si vous avez plus d'un sac, valise ou sac à dos, il peut être judicieux d'acheter un billet supplémentaire pour vos bagages - oui, hélas, vous payerez double pour votre voyage...
- Il est important de vérifier si votre van part à un horaire précis, ou s'il part quand il est plein. Dans ce dernier cas, vous risquez d'attendre longtemps, car sur certains itinéraires remplir un van peut prendre un certain temps.
- Il faut savoir que les conducteurs de vans sont connus pour leur conduite rapide. Même les compagnies les plus réputées ne parviennent pas toujours à persuader les conducteurs de respecter les limites de vitesse. Même si le chauffeur de votre van ne vous le demande pas, attachez toujours votre ceinture de sécurité lorsque vous voyagez en van.
- Si vous avez facilement le mal des transports, et que votre voyage comporte des tronçons sinueux, le risque d’être malade est plus élevé en van qu'en bus. Prenez vos médicaments une demi-heure avant le départ pour plus de sécurité.

Carole CL'horaire a été changé et n etait pas celui choisi (9hoo au lieu de 13h00) ce qui a perturbé mon emploi du temps. Finalement le mini van ne m 'a recupere qu'à 10h45 (beaucoup d'attente inutile, lever tôt pour rien, temps perdu), Le voyage etait plus long que prévu (beaucoup d'arrêts, presque presque 5h de voyage....)

Maurine DLe conducteur bien que très sympathique n était pas très attentif sur sa conduite et semblait très agité , n arrêtait pas de toucher ses affaires lors de sa conduite .
Il utilisait beaucoup son téléphone sans trop regarder la route et une fois a failli rentrer dans un mur sur l autoroute.
Nous sommes arrivés sain et sauf mais avec un grand stress .
L' usage du téléphone devrait être interdit lors de la conduite. C est le cas en France pour éviter les accidents.

Thomas EJe redoutais un peu le trajet car aucune agence n’était bien notée et a priori fiable … mais je pense qu’il y a uniquement les gens déçu qui mettent des commentaires! Je suis la pour contre balancer la chose. Tout s’est très bien passé pour nous et tout notre groupe. Il est vrai que le passage de la frontière est un peu flou.. mais on reçoit un sticker qui nous identifie et une personne est présente pour nous aider. En résumé, on vous dépose à la frontière, on prend un papier où rempli les infos du visa. On le donne avec notre passeport et 40 bath et une photo puis on récupère notre passeport temponé
On donne 40 dollars à la personne de l’agence avant de passer la frontière où 20m plus loin un mini bus nous attend. On est arrivé 30min en avance sur le départ du bateau. C’était 2 jours magnifique sur l’eau. N’hésitez pas !

Celia ZJ’avais réservé le van plus bus de nuit pour le Laos.
Départ prévu à 12h à mon hôtel. Un monsieur est venu à 11h passé pour me prévenir que le départ était repoussé à 14h. A 13h30 un autre homme en voiture basic est passé le chercher, m’a déposé au van.
La suite s’est plutôt bien passé. Le van était confortable et climatisé, il nous a conduit à un petit shop en bord de route pour faire les démarches avant la frontière (plutôt bizarre). On y rempli le formulaire pour la douane et prendre des photos pour ceux qui n’en ont pas. On peut aussi faire le change des baths en kip à un taux très interessant.
Le passage de la douane a été assez facile, rien à signaler côté thaïlandais. Par contre côté laotien, prévoir 1$ ou 50 baths de frais de services (juste pour qu’elle vérifie le formulaire. Payer 40$ ou 1800 baths de visa (attention en baths c’est beaucoup plus cher). Passer les douanes il faut attendre pour aller prendre le bus de nuit, on nous conduit à la gare routière petite mais avec le necessaire. Le bus de nuit est parti avec plus de 30 min de retard, le personnel était mal aimable au possible, on ne nous expliquait rien et ils ne parlaient pas anglais. Tu te retrouves dans une couchette plutôt étroite à deux avec un inconnu (ils essayent de mettre les touristes ensemble). Et la une route qui te secoue dans tous les sens entre les trous et les virages c’est à avoir envie de vomir. Une pause dîner à eu lieu à 20h et après aucune idee s’il y avait des pauses ou juste les arrêts des voyageurs car rien n’est dit en anglais.
Le voyage se fait, on ne dort pas ou pas beaucoup mais au moins on arrive à bon port

Sarah KLe départ à la gare routière du Laos a été un peu difficile, il faut échanger le bon et trouver le bus - peu de gens parlent anglais, dans notre cas il n'y avait heureusement qu'une seule option possible. L'ensemble du trajet a pris plus de temps que prévu, mais nous nous en sommes rendu compte en consultant toutes les autres offres de voyage. Le bus local prend environ 15 heures pour arriver à une station située à 15 minutes de la frontière. Après le trajet en bus, un affilié de K buddy nous attendait pour nous montrer le véhicule que nous allions prendre pour nous rendre à la ville frontalière laotienne de Huay Xai (à environ 15 minutes). Là, ils nous attendaient et nous ont expliqué les étapes suivantes, ont acheté le billet de bus et nous l'ont remis car il faut prendre une ligne de bus obligatoire pour traverser le pont de l'amitié jusqu'à la frontière thaïlandaise. De l'autre côté, après l'immigration à la frontière thaïlandaise, un chauffeur thaïlandais de K buddy nous attendait pour nous emmener à Chang Rai.
L'ensemble du voyage s'est déroulé de manière très fluide et facile. Le plus gros problème a été le Lao Sleeping Bus qui était assez rudimentaire, et certaines personnes qui sont montées à des arrêts de bus plus tardifs ont dû dormir sur le sol entre les lits, car tous les lits étaient occupés. Nous nous attendions à cela, donc tout s'est bien passé et K Buddy nous a vraiment guidés - leur service était excellent :)

Our hotel was a bit out the city, we received confirmation from 12Go but no further information. We looked up the provider on Google to find their Whatsapp and messaged over 24 hours before. We received no response despite multiple messages. 2 hours before pick up I decided to call to check the pick up was okay, we were told we had to meet at the meeting point (this information was not provided). After the call they finally opened the numerous messages I'd sent and rang back saying they'd send someone which they did.
In the end it worked out and driver at both ends was very nice and the vehicle was fine. I've unfortunately left 2 stars because of the stress caused by the complete lack of information and on 12Go it says 1h 30m transfer - this was more like 3 hours total.
Vehicle could also do with a clean inside.

* We arrived safely at our destination.
* The border crossing itself was straightforward.
* After entering Laos, the staff eventually directed us to the correct bus and we reached Luang Namtha without any major issues.
Low points:
* Pickup was late, and communication about the delay was limited.
* The taxi was overcrowded and uncomfortable for five passengers with luggage.
* One of the most uncomfortable moments was when the taxi driver repeatedly asked how much we had paid for the transfer, started making phone calls about it, and later asked us for a tip. It created an awkward situation that shouldn’t happen during a prepaid transfer.
* The company is not transparent about the type of transportation you’ll actually be using. When you book, you don’t know whether you’ll travel by private van, taxi, tuk-tuk, or an old local bus. The ticket guarantees you’ll reach your destination, but not the comfort or the means of transport.
* Assistance at the border was minimal, so you should be prepared to handle the visa and immigration process on your own.
* The bus to Luang Namtha was in poor condition, and the long meal stop made an already long journey even longer.
Overall: If your only priority is getting from Chiang Rai to Luang Namtha at a reasonable price, this service does the job. However, the lack of transparency, inconsistent transportation, and poor communication make it difficult to rate higher than 3 stars.

- Easy to book, confirmation email sent immediately
- My transport was an 11-seater, vehicle looks new-ish and clean
- I was picked up from the comfort of my hotel (instead of having to go to the bus station)
What can be improved:
- No communication from service provider apart from the auto confirmation email. I have to WhatsApp them to ask what time is pick up (I was informed pick up is between 1 - 1:30pm) & if driver is going to come and find me in lobby
- Driver was driving very fast - it felt unsafe. He was racing through pot holes and overtaking cars. I understand this may be common / how driving is in Thailand, but felt unsafe. I rather the travel time is 4 - 4.5 hours and he doesn’t have to rush

we had to chase confirmation of pickup by whats app. We were informed pick up 1pm to 1.30 we had to get our hotel to call they didn’t pick us up until 1.50 then drove like a maniac speeding and tailgating other cars to get to the pickup point for van did not feel safe at all. The van was big and comfortable enough.
Cons:
The driver was scrolling through TikTok the whole time, if not on TikTok he was on YouTube.
During the break in the trip he said we had 20 minutes, after 20 mins everyone was in the bus but we had to wait 15 more minutes for the driver while he was smoking.
No communication from the company, because they picked us up from our hotel I expected a message to confirm pickup location like I have had before.
Overall, the experience was fine.

Vanessa SOn the ticket it said we were supposed to be there AT LEAST 40 min before departure. We were there 30 min before and were told we are the last ones. But more people kept showing up also wanting to go to Chiang Rai. So there were not enough seats in the van. They had to organize another one which took them AN HOUR. So we sat there on the street for 1 1/2 hours and still had to leave people behind (I actually don’t know what happened to them). The van was ok, the driver was super nice and they stopped half way. The driver was average but the organization was aweful.

Nalissa EMy pick up was on time as the first passagner, but quite disorganized for others. He didn't have all the correct pick up addresses and it took over an hour to get out of Chiang Rai. He was a good driver, much safer than previous experiences. I've learned that door to door isn't necessarily the best option.

Dimitri RThere were not much information from 12GO, luckily I traveled with 2 other person who booked through the bus station and received phone numbers and more details through WhatsApp.
The bus left 2h later than schedule and the trip took longer as well.
The van waiting for us at the border left as we were Kate and we had to wait an additional 1h30, the trip took about 24h in total, instead of 17h. The bus isn't confortable and the bed have to be shared.
There were not enough bed available because some luggage had to be stored on beds since the boot was full of eggs and chickens...
Worth ride I had in a bus.

Sofia LEverything was on time and worked seamlessly - HOWEVER, they overly packed the van so it was VERY cramped and people were sitting on the floor. The AC was blasting making it ice cold, and the driver was flying through the curves. We made it safe and sound and an hour early even, but it was a very taxing journey.

Long HI know the AC has to be on and cold, since I took some travels before. but this one was freezing and the windows was still foggy. the driver did not knew what he was doing. Other then that it was good.
