JR East-South Hokkaido Rail Pass
Conventional lines
- JR East Lines (including BRT): All lines across the Kanto and Tohoku regions.
- JR Hokkaido Lines: Southern Hokkaido area (Hakodate, Sapporo, Otaru, Chitose, Muroran, etc.).
- Izu Kyuko Line: All lines between Atami and Izukyu-Shimoda.
- Tokyo Monorail: Full access (convenient for Haneda Airport).
- Aoimori Railway, IGR Iwate Galaxy Railway, and Sendai Airport Transit.
- Tobu Railway Lines: Limited to "Nikko," "Kinugawa," and "SPACIA Kinugawa" limited express trains running directly between JR and Tobu lines. You can also use local trains between Shimo-imaichi and Tobu-Nikko/Kinugawa-onsen.
- Note: Limited Express trains that both start and end at Tobu stations cannot be used.
Routes and ferries not covered
- Tokaido Shinkansen: Since this is operated by JR Central, you cannot use it for travel between Tokyo, Atami, and Nagoya/Osaka.
- Donan Isaribi Railway: The line between Goryokaku and Kikonai.
- JR Buses: No highway buses or local route buses are covered.
- Other Private Railways: Any private lines not mentioned above (e.g., Fuji Kyuko, Metro lines, or Hokkaido city trams/subways).
- Ferries: No ferry services (such as the Seikan Ferry) are included.
How to use
- Exchange your voucher for tickets at the office
Important information
- Validity: Valid for 6 consecutive days from the date of activation.
- Eligibility: Exclusive to non-Japanese passport holders with "Temporary Visitor" status.
- Seat Upgrades: If you wish to use Green Cars or Gran Class, the pass only covers the base fare. You will need to pay additional charges for the Limited Express and seat/facility fees.
- Non-Transferable: The pass is only for the individual named on it. It cannot be reissued if lost or stolen.
