Le bus est parti avec 2h de retard, ce qui est acceptable en Asie de l'Est, donc pas de problème. Nous étions censés faire le voyage avec un techbus, ce n'était certainement pas le cas. Cela pourrait être acceptable aussi. Mais le pire c'est que le bus est arrivé non pas 1,2, 5 heures plus tard mais 16 HEURES PLUS TARD (nous avons mis 39h au lieu de 23h pour arriver). Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans un bus qui faisait des livraisons, prenant de la marchandise (nous dormions entre une TV et des sacs de riz à certains moments) toutes les 20 minutes tout en emmenant des gens en route pour le laos. De plus, un des pneus a crevé en chemin, nous faisant perdre plusieurs heures (comme si ce n'était pas déjà assez) pour le faire réparer alors que le chauffeur nous a laissé dans un restaurant de rue au hasard pendant ce temps et nous a quitté sans nous prévenir. Si vous cherchez des sensations fortes et que vous n'êtes pas pressé, alors pas de pb, sinon trouvez une autre alternative.

C'était mieux que ce à quoi nous nous attendions. Le chauffeur était très gentil et serviable. La seule chose qui n'était pas super, c'est que nous sommes arrivés 2 heures plus tard que prévu.

C'était la deuxième fois que nous prenions cette route car la première fois nous sommes arrivés à la frontière et avons dû retourner à Hanoi car nous ne savions pas qu'il n'était plus possible d'obtenir des visas à l'arrivée pour le Laos. Nous sommes partis à l'heure de Hanoi et sommes arrivés presque à 21 heures à Luang Prabang. Plus qu'un transport formel de personnes, le bus était un service de livraison de marchandises. Le bus s'est arrêté plus d'une douzaine de fois pour collecter et livrer de nombreux articles sur le chemin, y compris des personnes sans billets. Tout cela ressemblait plus à une activité secondaire de chauffeurs corrompus qu'à quelque chose d'organisé par la compagnie. Il y avait peu d'arrêts pour aller aux toilettes (surtout pour les femmes) et pour manger. Les chauffeurs fumaient constamment à l'intérieur du bus et l'air conditionné a été endommagé à plusieurs reprises.

One of the worst experiences ever. It starts when I arrived to the bus station in Hanoi, spoke to the girl in the ticket counter to ask her which platform I should go, of course she didn't know a single word in English (like everyone in the station..), and then she just sells me a ticket even though I literally showed her my ticket was paid and took her so long to realise until she showed me where the bus is. The bus was full of rude people who can't speak a single word in English and not even willing to help you as a foreigner who don't speak their language. (Especially when I was the only stranger there) What was supposed to be a 24 hr ride turned out to be 34, it seemed like the driver wasn't sure on the way and there have been just too many stops. Yeah I get that the bus was stuck because the road was muddy, but that would have explain 2-3 hours delay and not fucking 10. Will never come close to a company like that.

The ticket said I would arrive at 15.15, and I got to luang prabang at 20.15. At 15.00 we got to the train station before luang prabang. There was a train at 17.00 and they gave me a ticket for the train at 18.30 so while other people were leaving, I had to wait even longer. A disaster.

There was such a lack of information for my trip from Hanoi to Luang prabang, I had to ask for it - bus was 12 hours to Dien Bien, then change to a van and then train. What they didn't release was that the van would bring you to muang xai which took 8 hours (1 hour in traffic) and the train was another hour, but I was waiting for 2 hours because they booked me a late ticket, so by the time I got there it was 23hours later not 19 and there's no way it could ever take just 19 hours so that info is false. Sleeper was comfortable, but the transfer to the van was messy, they didn't tell me where to get off, so they then had to arrange a taxi to bring me to the van, (thankfully I had data so I could actually reach them to ask for this because the bus drivers didn't seem to know what was going on, this is the main reason for my rating - poor organisation) the van was a bit cramped and there were like 1000 wrapped T-shirts falling on us the whole time. Border crossing at Tay Trang was smooth with the van drivers help. The roads from dien Bien to Muay Xai are dreadful so the driver couldn't drive more than 40 km/hr at most the whole way. It was an experience I don't wish to do again, I think a sleeper straight would be easier.

Difficulties in understanding, hardly any stops for toilet use, very fast drive that made fear to reach the border in a healthy condition... After the border very nice driver with good English who could be helpful. Very bad streets that made the trip very uncomfortable und long. At the train station we had to give away our knife for travel use because of security reasons.
