Hanoi to Sapa Destination Reviews

M
Our bus was supposed to leave at 1:30pm, we chose this time specifically because our check out from the hotel was at 12:30. We received a message a bit before saying the bus was leaving at 1:50. We couldn’t get a later check out time from the hotel so we asked the person who was messaging us what time we had to be there, but got no response. We went to the address they sent us around 12:50, thinking it was an office and we could wait there for about an hour. The address was on a busy road, with just a sign on the sidewalk and a van from the company parked in front of it. We messaged the person and they said we were earlier and told us to wait at a cafe located at a 9 minutes walk away. We had a lot of heavy bags so we just found something closer to wait and went back to the place at 1:40 pm thinking we’d wait for about 10 minutes. As it turns out we ended up waiting until 2:30 standing up in the crushing heat, and we had to put our bags on the filthy sidewalk. There was a little stand right there selling drinks we asked if we could sit on the many chairs available and the man said NO. The G8 employee got there around 1:50, we spoke to him and he said the bus was coming at 2pm. He sat comfortably in one of the chairs from this little stand while all the paying customers waited around standing up. He laughed at me when I told him the man on the stand said we couldn’t sit, and they were both looking at us and laughing. He also didn’t clarify in any way why the bus was late. We have used many different bus companies in Vietnam, we’ve been here for more than a month, and even the most humble ones had at least an office with chairs or a cafe at the same place the bus was departing where we could wait comfortably. Not G8 in Hanoi. There you will be standing up on the filthy sidewalk, and you could end up waiting for hours, as it was our case. We started our journey to Sapa tired, hot, and grumpy because of it. The bus itself was good, spacious and seemly clean. But the TV didn’t work, and even after all the tardiness they still stopped to fuel the bus and it took ages. Our arrival time was scheduled to 7:45, we arrived in Sapa 10pm. I don’t recommend their service if you’re leaving from Hanoi.

In the bus , wifi does not work And also The staff were not normally supportive. Even though I was able to get to the registration desk 1 hour ago, I almost missed the bus. So, when I asked where the bus was 3 times, they said your bus had not arrived. Finally, when I asked them to check again, it turned out that the bus that had been waiting for 20 minutes was my bus.
