What are the Vans Classes & Prices of April Adventure?
As a rule, it is not possible to choose a ticket class when travelling by van. Yet you can check with the operator and/or choose the type of van which serves your route. Some vans seat only 9-10 passengers, others accommodate up to 15 travellers. The former case means you may have more legroom, wider seats and a more comfortable ride, the latter – be ready for a limited space for your legs, elbows and your luggage. Pros of Van Travel
- Vans often reach the destinations where neither buses nor trains travel. These include secondary towns and smaller villages
- In most cases vans are the fastest way to get to your destination if travelling to relatively short distances overland simply because they are smaller than buses and more maneuverable
- Vans can let you get off at a more convenient point enroute – not necessarily at the terminal, what actually can save you loads of time and money in some cases.
Cons of Van Travel
- Some vans can be quite cramped with limited space for luggage available. Well, actually almost all vans offer limited luggage space and if you have more than one bag, suitcase or backpack, it may be a good idea to buy a separate seat for your luggage – yes, you will pay double for your trip, alas
- It is worth checking if your van runs on schedule or leaves when full – in the latter case you may end up waiting too long as on several routes it can take quite a time for a van to fill up.
- You should know that van drivers are notorious for their speedy driving. Even the most reputable companies sometimes fail to persuade the drivers to respect the speed limits. Even if your van driver does not insist on it, always buckle your seatbelt while travelling by van
- If you easily get seasick and your trip includes winding stretches, chances to feel motion sickness are higher while travelling by van than by bus. Take your medicine half an hour before your trip to be on the safe side.

Corentin HThe driver was crazy. This went far beyond the usual Vietnamese driving style. His behavior was very dangerous: he repeatedly tried to overtake other trucks in risky situations and had to brake suddenly when he realized it wasn't possible. It felt extremely unsafe.
The driver was on time, and we even arrived earlier than expected, which is not surprising given how fast he was driving. However, the air conditioning wasn't strong enough for a full minivan. The first way (Hanoi to Ninh Binh) was way better and safer. Communication by WhatsApp is very nice.

There also were communication problems with the company according to the drop off point.

Karl E1. The seatbelts are to short. Only a child could get them done up. We felt very unsafe.
2. The van interior has been poorly maintained. Loose trim everywhere and the back doors did not close properly.

Bridget Sthe first limousine was great, arrived on time and was air conditioned, comfortable and had working chargers. when we arrived in hoi an the lady at the hung thinh phat office told us to meet her there instead of where April travel told us to. This was not communicated to April travel which resulted in a huge panic when the began calling us asking why we were not in the original location. It was all sorted out and we made our bus but was quite stressful and the second bus was awful, air con not working, smelled funny and chargers that didn’t work while the bus was running. It is worth noting that April adventure travel only organise and give WhatsApp support for the travel, which honestly they did well, but you are still travelling with the hung thinh phat bus and customers who have paid considerably less for the pleasure and the buses themselves are equally as variable and chaotic. Our drivers were very helpful themselves though.

Rhys HWhile the drive was quick, we had to change vehicles seemingly as we were the only ones on the first minibus. Neither vehicle had any meaningful AC and on the second one we had to sit in the front pressed up against each other. While not unique to this driver in Vietnam, they excessively used the horn and drove quite fast. No rest stop was offered.

Emma SThe trip took forever, while not entirely the drivers fault (one passenger asked for an unscheduled stop and took about 20 minutes in the bathroom), he did make a few unscheduled stops to pick up items. At least, we were dropped off at our hotel directly and didn’t need to other transfer they had mentioned in the reservation.

Amy WI selected Aprils Adventure for this booking which cost more than most but another company came with the bus. The bus also had to make u turns back to destinations a few times to pick up people due to lack of communication. It took an extra 20 minutes to leave due to this.

J'ai oubliée mes airpods ainsi qu'une casquette Ralph Lauren dans le bus, quand j'ai demander à les récupérer au début pas de nouvelles pendant 1 journées entières pour ensuite me dire qu'il n'y avait rien dans le bus.
Je voyage en bagpacke il est donc clair que si mes affaires n'étais pas dans mon sac, elles étaient dans le bus !

Keenan AWe had to get picked up from a gas station that was a 30 minute drive out of Da Nang, once picked up 6 of us had to squeeze into a 4 person car and we went to Hoi An. We then had to wait almost an hour before getting into the bus, so despite a 4:30pm start I was not on the bus until 6:30pm. The bus was fine, small for westerners. I also got several horrible bed bug bites. Makes me question if the buses get cleaned…

Lisbeth RWe chose to pay more for this bus to Hue and back because the comments seemed like the drivers drive quite safely, which was important for us. However, on the trip to Hue we had the scariest drive in Vietnam yet. We know that the driving here is a bit different to what we are use to. However in the two hours we took over I don’t know how many cars while not a single car was faster than us, which makes me quite sure we were too fast. We were really scared of accidents. Worst of all a coach didn’t let us pass, which then started a battle between our bus and the other one where we nearly crashed several times. The drive back from Hue felt way saver that was really nice. However, both times the bus picked us up earlier than what we booked. 10 minutes in the morning - no worries. But 35 minutes earlier (6:15 instead of 6:50) on the way back. So we couldn’t eat dinner as we had planned. Also the bus in the morning was really old and not at all like on the pictures.But that would really all still have been totally okay, had the drive been safe. But we were really scared.
