Took the van from Ninh Binh City to Hanoi. Upon reaching Hanoi, they demanded an additional 70,000 VND from us. It was never disclosed that there would be an additional fee upon arrival.

The driving was some of the scariest driving I have ever experienced. Tailgating, weaving between cars at high speeds, lots of close calls... I do not need to be on time that badly. I just want to get to my destination safely.

The driver was taking too many local roads due to traffic. We asked to take the toll roads and they did. We tipped (or payed) the toll charges. They were really kind and change routes without fuss.
