Not as nice as the train I took from Hanoi, carriages were older and not as comofortable. However, train was on time and everything worked.

The train was very punctual. Air conditioner worked fine, however the cleanliness of the train needs to be improved. We spotted some baby cockcroaches beside the window. We were not shocked but it somehow affected our level of comfort during the train journey from Hanoi to Ninh Binh. Otherwise everything was fine throughout!

Whole transfer was full of confusion! Although we waited for 75 minutes at the meeting point, bus driver #1 obviously couldn't find us... Later we were picked up by driver #2, but had to change the bus at Ninh Binh. In the end, we arrived 1.5 hours behind schedule in Hanoi. Only positive: the service staff tried to give support via WhatsApp, but half an hour after actual departure...

Journey was ok but operator tried to amend original plan. After several emails we managed to maintain initial itinerary.

Pick up was confusing as we were picked up initially in a car that was unmarked with company name and the bus we went to also didn't have to company name from 12 go Asia. Recommend making these match or give the driver a sign to hold whe meeting customers.

train #SE20 2nd Class AC seats only, Vietnam Railways, Oct 27, 2019
Train was on time and crew were friendly and made it easy to find our ‘more spacious than an aeroplane’ seats. The train itself is dated and a bit rickety but we made it to Hanoi at the correct time. The only criticism is that the toilets are absolutely foul (as you might expect from trains/Asia) best cross your legs! Otherwise a great way to travel.

Erg vol. Redelijk gare stoelen en een lucht in de coupe waar je niet vrolijk van werd.

The train conductor kept a little dog in a cage right below our seat - the dog stank really bad and was noisy, so it was not enjoyable at all... There is no space for large luggage.

train #SE20 1st Class Sleeper, Vietnam Railways, Oct 6, 2019
Was a short ride from Ninh Binh to Hanoi, so cannot comment on comfort much but it didn’t seem too shaky. Basket for items stated would be complimentary was empty, and the berth opposite me was left dirty. Overall fairly clean and would take Lotus Train again, just need to pay a little more attention to details. 12go service was easy to use and will use for future bookings.

Train was delayed for about 30 minutes. Overall journey was OK. If only the train staffs could speak English, it would have been better. Train staff couldn't be bothered to offer us food as they could not speak English. The soft seat 2nd Class coach was comfortable.

Journey was fine. Only con for me was the music/announcement which comes on as you come into Hanoi was ridiculously loud. So loud it made a baby cry! All good apart from that though.

Train was delayed by 50 minutes but overall it was a relatively comfortable journey. They serve different foods on the train and water is provided. At times they played loud Vietnamese music from train speakers which is a bit odd. The only awful part is the arrival at Hanoi station: taxi drivers are like vultures. On the Grab app you cannot specify 4 seater so decided to walk to the hotel instead.

Train got broken ???? Was really hoping to ride the sleeper train, but they gave us an option to either wait for the next train or ride a bus.
