Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh Destination Reviews

AK
I have thought about this trip over and over again. I am an extremely organised person. I was told the visa on arrival is 1.1 million VND. So I put aside 2.2 million VND for my travel partner and I the night before which I withdrew from an atm. When I arrived at the Ibis bus meet point in Ho Chi Minh, I was 30 mins early as advised to give enough time to sort out the visa. The man on the desk seemed irritated and asked for the money. I had already sorted it so was happy to hand it to him. But he showed me a much larger figure than expected on his calculator (around 3.5 million VND). I handed him over the money I had put aside and into a separate sleeve to cover our visas and he irritatingly asked for 36 dollars more? Which I handed over feeling that I’d booked a reputable and reliable company who would know what they’re doing. I think I may have been robbed out of an extra 36 dollars. As for the journey it was absolutely wonderful. I can’t fault it at all. Extremely organised and a lot of breaks which were perfect.

The Bus and the Transfer itselves were good but we got told that the visa costs 40$ and we should pay the money to the tour Manager when in fact it costs 30$. We didn’t understand why we should pay 10$ more.
