When I was already at the agreed pick up point in the old town I was told through Whats App the pick up would be at a Place 1,5 km away from that. Departure time was 10:10 am and the Bus came 10:50 am. Every question the Driver was asked he answered indignantly. Further more he stopped on the way for several times, didn‘t explain anything but smoked a cigarette. About 15 min from the actual destination he stoppt again not saying anything but yelling at some people whom finally drove us to Tam Coc in different Cars Weile the Driver had lunch.

Great fun getting the train to Ninh Binh from Hanoi. We booked a sleeper berth (for a short journey!) The train ran precisely on time and all railway staff were helpful. Clean, comfortable ride.

Perfectly fine. Got us there and was on time. The bus that picks you up in central Hanoi is a small one that will drive you to the company office to get on the main bus. So you will have to change.
