When we made the reservation, it indicated that the trip would take two hours. In reality, it was four and a half hours. A car picked us up at the correct time, and we spent an hour and a half driving around Hanoi picking up other travelers. Once everyone was picked up, they took us to the company's offices where they switched vehicles, without giving us any explanation. When we got close to our destination, we stopped again and they switched vehicles again. We finally arrived at our destination two and a half hours later than indicated. Despite our repeated requests for explanations at various stops, they didn't give us any. A disaster.

It was exactly what I was expecting. Kinda old and tired carriage. Rickety line. But it left right on time and arrived when expected. Train travel is always my go to where possible.

Great experience, the trip is split up by van taxi that takes you from the Opera House to somewhere slightly further out in Hanoi, then a nice plush luxury bus for the rest of the journey to Ninh Binh. At Ninh Binh, you’ll also get another taxi to your last destination (mine was Trang An) but the drivers will call your name and look out for you, so you needn’t worry. The trip was a bit longer than advertised (instead of 1.5h more like 2-2.5h). The only confusing part was knowing where to wait at the Opera House, as it’s quite a big area with a lot of other tour buses and groups, but they Whatsapp you with information and by sending a pic of yourself the drivers can find you easier.

The pickup was 20 minutes late. When I got into the van/limousine, the woman in front of me had her seat fully reclined, making it impossible for me to sit with my legs together. When we arrived in Ninh Binh, we had to transfer to another van to get to Tam Coc. The drivers directed us to specific vans, but about 10 minutes into the ride, the driver became angry at two passengers for being in the wrong van, even though he was the one who had told them to get in. I believe the confusion was his responsibility.

We booked the bus for 11:15am and then the company wrote us that the bus is full and if we could switch to 12:10pm. We were really dissatisfied as we was wondering why we still could book the bus even if the bus is full. We accepted the change and the driver wrote us at 12 that he is coming at 12:20. finally he showed up at 12:35 and we were a bit pissed as we had to sit in the heat for nearly 1,5h as check out was 11, that’s why we booked the 11:15 bus. Than the driver took us with a normal car to a place where we changed to the bus. And the bus was awesome, really cozy and even with massage function. I would recommend it it your flexible with time.

We had to switch cars two times - only one of those cars was the actual limousine. They were on time but they should declare this on their website - in the end, they just sold us a package that was different than what we experienced.
