Chiang Mai to Bangkok Destination Reviews

MD
They were not very helpful at all even no water and foods to buy in the midnight and in a long 13 hours journey. The light was on all day long, the size can be fit for small people. I think is better to take the normal one in the day trip rather than this sleeper train. This is one of the bad travel experience i had here in thailand

If you are expecting comfort or scenery or a beer or glass of whine or to see the countryside, youll be much better off taking the bus. Its basically a sleeper train with many many stops. Lights flashing all night, and if you have to sleep on your side youll be feeling rough because a lot of left to right motions will keep you rolling. I guess my teain trips in China kinda spoiled me. I was just expecting more. Oh and beds roll out for everyone an hour or so after departure.. Will Take the bus next time for comfort rest and then option and ability to see the countryside while teaveling night or day. My train was at night.

The experience was better than I expected, but still very uncomfortable. If you have lucky, you will have a bench for yourself.

For me it was how I Imagined it was. For the price it was brilliant, I seen comments complaining ect , it being to cold. Cold beats being to hot so bring an extra layer or catch the plane 5 x the price. I will definitely use it again but next time I will try traveling in the night.

the whole process moved very smoothly. the train was on time, staff came around to ask if you wanted your bed made now or later roughly an hour into the journey, and then woke you up about an hour before arriving in bangkok. you can feel the rocking of the train quite a lot but that is to be expected. my only qualm is that they left the main bright light on the whole night, which was disturbing especially when on an upper berth. would recommend 👍

They wake you up too early, they also keep the light on all hours so it is very hard to sleep if you are on you the top bunk.

Unlike buses or taxis which have numerous companies offering their services, train service is usually offered by just one major company in each country. As railway service requires a large amount of infrastructure, most railway companies are government-owned and are a part of the national transport system.

One of the best advantages of travelling by train is that railway stations are often conveniently located within or very near major cities and urban areas. Immediately on arrival to their destination, travellers find themselves in close proximity to important facilities like hotels, supermarkets, and hospitals.

If you travel with a lot of bags and luggage, trains are your best option. Luggage weight limits on trains are rather flexible and allow you to carry multiple bags with you.

Special or luxury trains feature sufficient legroom which allows you to stretch your legs and relax. In comfort and space these train seats can be compared to business class airplane seats.

Similar to buses, trains can provide a variety of amenities to make your travel more comfortable and enjoyable. Modern trains have WIFI service, a snack counter and a drinking bar. Onboard toilets can be a life saver for travellers with queasy stomachs.

Lastly, unlike buses and other overland means of transport, trains are very rarely involved in accidents.
