We were very surprised how good the bus from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai was. Lot of leg space, fast service, folding seats, toilets. Everything just in time. Excellent drive

Calling it a VIP Bus is for sure exaggerated. There is no plug-in to charge your phone, the TV in front of every seat it not working and the air con is turned to about 10 degrees. I brought a Hoodie already; some people seemed to know and had blankets with them. What is the point of turning it that low? I think everyone on the bus was freezing and feeling uncomfortable. Furthermore, none of the staff spoke English or any other of the 5 languages I speak. Don´t choose your seat online because some seem to be window seats but they are not. The size of seat was okay. But again; nothing VIP like.

The driver was respectful, patient, and was an excellent navigator. I was worried that my driver would be sleepy or distracted so early in the morning, but he was fantastic. Most importantly, he made me feel safe.

Challenging road conditions but driver handled it well. Felt safe and assured. Quite nice scenery once into rural parts and we got chance to see traditional rice paddies. They still exist! Booking process was simple. Bus was comfortable and overall great value.
