Hoi An to Hanoi Destination Reviews

MT
The beds didn’t lay all the way down, but sat at a slight incline so it was hard to sleep with the movements. The drop off location was NOT the same as the ticket so I still had to get a car to the hostel.

Fairly okay. Coach…a little tired and not all seats had everything working.

Nobody speaks English, but that's not really a problem. It was just very strange that a special cargo was loaded and unloaded, which made our backpacks stink. The smell is terrible.

Overall fine. You get what you pay for. We started off being put in the bottom beds right at the back. Avoid these ones at all costs. You cannot sit up in them because these are smaller in height than all the others. We moved further up the bus at the first chance. The charger in my cabin did not work so phone could not charge. And what looked like a screen in the images on line turned out to be a poster in an advertising slot. Driver was ‘short’ with us and smoked a lot in the bus. However, the travel appeared safe and I managed to get about 6 hours sleep on and off, which I was surprised about. Overall, this is not the ‘luxury travel’ the advertising leads you to believe. But it was cheap…so probably fair enough. Next time will take the sleeper train though.

We were suppose to do Hoi an-Hanoi by night. Bus on time, lot is space, very comfy bus and clean. But this bus drop us at 7am in tam coc (2h away from our final destination we were suppose to arrive at 8 in Hanoi). The guy from the office scream at us during 40 min to tell us how hard it’s to find a bus during school holiday (was still 7am way too early for that !) around 8 he find us a solution and we arrive pass 10am at Hanoi. Everything could have been fine if we knew from the begging and no one shout at us for nothing.

The images online showed a spacious bunk. Reality was the fully reclining seat was little bigger than a coffin. There was no place to store even a small day bag. The restaurant where the bus stopped for food in the evening was very poor. I can eat most things but could only describe the food as revolting. I’d advise people to take their own food.
