Hanoi to Ha Giang Destination Reviews

I booked a bus from Old Quarter and received a ticket for stop 25km away. I called the number and the lady gave me a time for the old quarter pick up which was incorrect so we ended up missing our 12pm bus. She put us on the 4pm bus but refused any compensation for the delay we faced and said it’s my fault because I wanted to change my pick up location. She was nice enough and not rude - kindly take this ans feedback to improve. And the bus itself took 7.5 hours not 5 as mentioned ( I believe it’s the standard time but it was misleading information posted on 12go). Bus was comfortable and clean though and drivers accommodated stopping where we requested which was helpful as we arrived so late,

The vehicle was very comfortable and had everything you need. Highly recommend. What made the tour bad was the service staff. Unfriendly when we loaded our baggage. Was rude to us during the trip and behaved like a commander. When we asked for a second blanket he denied even though there were enough for everybody.

We arrived at the pick up point with plenty of time to spare. After a while we were squashed into an old car, which already had two passengers in and driven to another bus pick up point. We were then put on a bus from a different bus company than we had purchased. The bus was not very nice and not what we had booked. We went for the top luxury option and there was nothing luxury about the bus we were put on. I have complained to 12go but they are still looking into it 10 days later!

Have got the ticket 10 minutes before departure (how should I know that the booking was successful‍♂️), contact with 12go don't help very much, contact to bus company not possible...and then the bus was also 30 minutes too late...not very positive expirience this time.

They said the bus broke down, so instead of 9 I left at 11:30.. The same time the other one would go, we were with for 4 people. I guess they canceled it the 9 am one, if they told me earlier I could have stayed in the hotel. Also commutation how long the bus stop, wasn't there

Great communication via Whatsapp before the trip. Safe driving along the route with multiple rest stops. Took us all the way to our hotel in central Ha Giang. We did leave about 30 minutes late, but that was not a major issue for us.

We booked King star company leaving Ha Giang at 8.30 Company did not showed up, they "sold us" to another operator (red buses) forced us to minivan going to different station and as a cherry - our bus had minor accident with truck (truck driver was responsible not our bus driver) 22 km before Hanoi so we had to take taxi and not wait hours for vietnamese police to show up etc... Absolutely not reccomended
