Obviously very small carriages for Vietnamese people who are fundamentally smaller ethnically. This can pose a problem for larger Westerners! There is also a problem of storing luggage in the cabins. Backpacks fine… An average sized suitcase would be difficult, especially if the cabin was full and there were 4 people and their bags! Other than that, loved the experience. However, didn’t use the loo but did buy food from the restaurant carriage and the “trolley” service. Basic, tad expensive (even by Vietnamese standards) but tasty.

Tickets produced seamlessly, train on time, easy to find and board and when we realised we'd left a bag and mobile phone behind, station staff had already secured and identified our panic and supplied immediately. Fabulous work. Scenery excellent and only 30 mins late after giving way to standard trains. Reasonable.

Lovely train journey. Wait in the air conditioned waiting room (furthest on the left, up a few stairs) then show your e-ticket to get on the train. Good views (best on the left). Opportunity to get off and stretch legs for 10 mins halfway through.
