Rustige trein, voldoende ruimte.

The train left one later as planned. No information to find about this, because the small screen in the station hall was all in Thai language. The employees of the station didn't speak English. The bed in the train was good, only the light was on all night and it was very cold because of the airconditioning.

The trip was good. Only the accommodation is getting old. Thee was only food at the start from the trip. Not during the 5,5 hours trip

Overall a good trip. The sheets were clean and pillow soft. A bit noisy but we had the bunks closest to the door.

Train seats were very comfortable. Train left 30 minutes behind schedule and arrived over 60 minutes behind schedule however that was of no consequence. Scenery was very nice as well. We were also served a light meal on the trip which was unexpected. Overall high marks for a pleasant trip.

One of the worst experiences ever. The fact train was late for departure with 20 minutes was not a big deal. Then, the train conductor seated us in some other empty berths, because he was sleeping in out berth. We had 2 berths, one lower and one above, but we only used the lower one since we both had space there. The bert is the most uncomfortable beth I have ever travelled (my experience consists of european berths: greek, turkisch, romanian, hungarian, polish, german and french). I am 1,83 height and I could just fit. The wagon is not very comfortable as the whole ride seemed a little bumpy. We couldn't sleep at all the entire night. THe curtains of the berth are not so good for privacy and also the wagon is very noisy since there people not in the mood to sleep. The toilets are very dirty (one thai style - squat and one western) and smelly. There were also cockroaches on the aisle. In the morning there was an employee asking if we want tee of coffee and assuming it was free I asked for 2 teas - big mistake! We had to pay 160 THB for them. I find this outrageous since we paid a lot of money. Prior to this train we took a train from Bangkok to Hua Hin (2nd class with A/C) where they also provided us a meal and free drinks (water and tee) - train that just cost us 828 THB. The only positive things would be the sunrise in the morning and the fact you can bring more baggages.

Slept in upper berth and my friend in lower berth, very noisy panel above my head was loose and only quiet when i pushed against it.was also in berths 3and 4 next to toilet and not ideal.main carriage light was in my face during journey, curtain closed but light was above curtain, was too bright during night.door between carriages left open and noisy.overall i slept 2 hrs max /on an 8 hr journey from Hua Hin to Surat Thani.wouldnt recommend and would take V.I.P coach instead.rate 2 stars out of 5.sorry to say we were not impressed.

Great start to train journey until it broke down ! Added 3 hours to journey very inconvenient and had planned not to arrive in the dark alone in a different city. Train staff were excellent. Has put me off prebooked next 3 train journeys so may fly instead.
