Hanoi to Da Nang Destination Reviews

AP
We had a child with us and we were disappointed initially as we got top berths for both the seats. However after Ninh Bing station lower berths got free and the staff informed us that we can use the lower berths now, which made the journey quite comfortable.

We already traveled earlier with another train. This was much better. Only missing a hook inside cabine. Breakfast could be better than a breakfast box. But overall a good choice And at this price - poor to take luggage yourself from lounge to train. Include stairs up and down Finally a small cooler in cabine should be available

This was a great journey from Hanoi to Danang. we were told to come 45 mins early so that a ticket can be generated. There was an operator who was already present there to greet us and to hand over the ticket to us. There was some confusion but we spoke to the customer service and they advise that all is well and its not fraud. We were very thank full to the operator who was patiently waiting for us to be handed over the ticket. 5 Stars for him. our train coach was lockable and had lots of snacks provided to us. we had two down seats and 1 up seat. We slept well during the night time. The toilets were very clean and we were impressed with everything. In the morning the train went via scenic route of driving close to the beach. So amazing. we reached on time and loved the whole journey. We will do this train journey again.

Poor. Beds were incredibly hard and water stores ran out by morning so toilets out of action and no handwashing. Just book a regular trip - no need for an expensive tour operator. That add nothing to the experience except frustration.

The service was friendly and helpful, offering drinks and snacks periodically; we also enjoyed the complimentary snacks/water. The toilet and washrooms were clean. The beds however were hard and uncomfortable, and we found we were sharing with an older man as a group of young women which we weren’t warned about.

Great service and experience from Laman Express. We chose the 2 berth cabin as didn't fancy sharing it with others. The staff was very helpful with any questions we had. The cabin was clean and so were the beds. There's selection of snacks available in the cabin for free along with 2 bottles of water and beer or tea. More light snacks can be ordered online. The toilets were okay. There are 2 sockets under the table for charging whatever you might need to charge. There's aircon inside the cabin (on the ceiling) which you can adjust to your liking. It's not easy to sleep on a moving train like this. The noise you can combat with earphones or earplugs, but the shaking is not something you can control. While the beds are okay, it won't change the fact that the whole cabin is moving as the train is going along. This might not be for everyone. A few tips: Get some food and/or drinks for takeaway before you board the train as the selection is not great. If you want to keep the door ever so slightly open without listening to the constant banging on the rails, you can jam the small leather booklet or the slippers between the door and the frame to stop it from making a noise.

Unlike buses or taxis which have numerous companies offering their services, train service is usually offered by just one major company in each country. As railway service requires a large amount of infrastructure, most railway companies are government-owned and are a part of the national transport system.

One of the best advantages of travelling by train is that railway stations are often conveniently located within or very near major cities and urban areas. Immediately on arrival to their destination, travellers find themselves in close proximity to important facilities like hotels, supermarkets, and hospitals.

If you travel with a lot of bags and luggage, trains are your best option. Luggage weight limits on trains are rather flexible and allow you to carry multiple bags with you.

Special or luxury trains feature sufficient legroom which allows you to stretch your legs and relax. In comfort and space these train seats can be compared to business class airplane seats.

Similar to buses, trains can provide a variety of amenities to make your travel more comfortable and enjoyable. Modern trains have WIFI service, a snack counter and a drinking bar. Onboard toilets can be a life saver for travellers with queasy stomachs.

Lastly, unlike buses and other overland means of transport, trains are very rarely involved in accidents.
