Not bad for a first experience. A bit noisy and the staff are quite rude but I think they're just trying to do their job.

Booking service was excellent. Emailed flight changes 24 hours in advance. Would not fly Vietjet again. 3 flighs all delayed by at least 30 minutes, 1 delayed by 5 hours. No concerns with the booking service

train #SE2 Cabin 2x, Vietnam Railways, Nov 6, 2019
We had a private 2 bed cabin for the 15 hour journey. The beds were comfortable enough but sleeping was not easy to due the train movement and noise, this was to be expected though. The toilet is ok but not the cleanest especially for females to use. The free snack basket offered by the train in cabin was very poor, considering we paid the most expensive fee available, a tube of Pringles or pack of biscuits would be better. Generally a good trip but I would not wish to do it often.

train #SE2 1st Class Sleeper, Vietnam Railways, Oct 26, 2019
Took the SE2 sleeper 1st class upper bunk bought through 12go. Our ticket read car 12. Car 12 was closed and there was a lot of confusion about if we would be allowed on the train. The reason left on time. The bunk was very basic, air conditioning was cold, a few small cockroaches on the walls, toilets are dirty, food was chicken and rice served by ladle from a rolling cart onto a plastic tray. Our roommates kept the curtain closed to sleep the whole time. They just keep closing it. At 1400 I do not want to sit in a dark room. There is no chair or other place to sit. Stand in the hall only. There are USB ports in the bunk. Cigarette smoke came through the vents frequently We arrived on time to Hanoi. .... Priceless experience:)

Got upper bunk which you said you try to avoid. Got conflicting messages when I booked the trip. You stated my bank had refused payment and to contact them. Worst part of trip was booking with you which I had to pay to do. Terrible customer service

My third time doing this journey, but my first time in a VIP sleeper. Great experience, super comfy. Toilets are unfortunately shared with all other 1st class sleepers and they are notoriously filthy. The conductor on our train was rather rude, but usually they are nice ;)

I took a train SE 2 from danang to hanoi. The train were delay 1 and half hour but the staff in the train station offer us to buy another ticket which will depart earlier than our train. We decided to wait for our train. We buy 1st class sleeper. We share the cabin with local but they were nice. Overall our experience were great. The train station is clean n cozy. Thanks to the aunty and uncle cleaner.

train #SE20 1st Class Sleeper, Vietnam Railways, Sep 10, 2019
12goAsia booking service was fantastic. Very easy and efficient. The train wasn't bad either although the description of "1st class" is relative! We had been told that the SE20 trains weren't as modernised as the SE2, but we had exactly the same cabin style and facilities on both. The compartment was reasonably clean, bedding OK, USB and electrical points on each bunk and toilets reasonable. Water dispensers (hot and cold) in each carriage (we didn't use) and sinks for teeth cleaning, etc. We were lucky that our carriage was almost empty so noise wasn't an issue and there were no people sleeping in the corridors. Staff kept the train clean. All in all, a pretty decent journey that arrived on time :-)

Cuccette comode, ma purtroppo la velocità ridotta fa si che il viaggio sia lungo. Per il resto comodo e con attacchi elettrici e USB

As railway service requires a large amount of infrastructure, most railway companies are government-owned and are a part of the national transport system.

One of the best advantages of travelling by train is that railway stations are often conveniently located within or very near major cities and urban areas. Immediately on arrival to their destination, travellers find themselves in close proximity to important facilities like hotels, supermarkets, and hospitals.

If you travel with a lot of bags and luggage, trains are your best option. Luggage weight limits on trains are rather flexible and allow you to carry multiple bags with you.

Special or luxury trains feature sufficient legroom which allows you to stretch your legs and relax. In comfort and space these train seats can be compared to business class airplane seats.
