Good journey everything went smoothly. It was very long due to traffic but our driver Rival M Helmy was great and dropped us at our accommodation. I would say a stop to get food/use the toilet would be appreciated. Thank you.

Is Bali worth it?

Bali offers a range of attractions for travelers. Key sites include the temples of Uluwatu and Tanah Lot, known for their unique architecture and ocean views. For those interested in nature, the rice terraces of Ubud and the beaches of Seminyak provide opportunities for relaxation and exploration.

Transportation is facilitated by taxis and ride-hailing apps, with rides around Denpasar typically costing about 100,000 IDR ($6.50). Renting a scooter is popular, costing around 60,000 IDR ($4) per day.

Dining options range from local warungs, where meals cost approximately 30,000 IDR ($2), to upscale restaurants in tourist areas.

Tap water in Bali is generally not safe to drink; bottled water is recommended. It is widely available and affordable.

Local customs emphasize respect, particularly in religious sites, where modest clothing is required.

Which part of Bali is the richest?

The southern part of Bali, particularly areas like Seminyak, Nusa Dua, and parts of Uluwatu, is considered the most affluent. These regions are known for luxury resorts, upscale dining, and high-end shopping. Seminyak offers designer boutiques and gourmet restaurants, while Nusa Dua is home to exclusive beachfront resorts and a golf course. Uluwatu features luxurious cliffside villas and renowned surf spots.

Transportation in these areas is convenient, with taxis and private drivers readily available. A taxi fare typically ranges from 50,000 to 150,000 IDR ($3 to $10) depending on the distance. Dining options vary, with meals at high-end restaurants costing around 200,000 to 500,000 IDR ($13 to $32) per person.

Tap water in Bali is not safe to drink, so it is advisable to use bottled water. Most accommodations provide bottled water, and it is widely available in stores.

How do people travel to Bali?

Travelers to Bali typically arrive via Ngurah Rai International Airport, which is well-connected with direct flights from major cities worldwide. Upon arrival, transportation options include airport taxis (~150,000 IDR or $10) and car rentals. Ride-hailing apps like Gojek and Grab are popular for getting around the island. Public transport is limited, so renting a scooter (~60,000 IDR or $4 per day) is a common choice for many visitors. Private drivers can also be hired for day trips (~500,000 IDR or $33 per day).

For inter-island travel, ferries and speedboats operate between Bali and neighboring islands such as Lombok and the Gili Islands. It is advisable to book tickets in advance during peak seasons. Tap water in Bali is not safe to drink; bottled water is recommended for consumption.
