Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai Destination Reviews

Language barrier with Driver but it’s to be expected. Picked up on time and Got us to our destination. However he drove aggressively fast, dangerous at times passing multiple vehicles during our entire long ride. Worried he may endanger many more passengers in the future into a car accident. He would pass aggressively almost had so many close calls with oncoming traffic passing double yellow lines at an unsafe speed. We value safe driving to get to our final destination than being aggressively fast where we feared for our lives. Unsettling ride that’s for sure. We are just thankful we arrived alive after the ride.

Van was late and that wouldn't be the problem if they just let me know before I had to call them after 40 minutes of wait. Also, we get to stop by the White Temple and I wasn't aware of that, I thought it was direct transport. The confort was satisfactory and I got from point A to the point B. I would recommend the agency just I would suggest them to be a bit open and clear about things.

I unfortunately got stuck in the back seat of the minivan basically in the boot next to the luggage. Im 6ft4 I could not stretch my legs and was in a lot of pain 😂 There are other seats with a lot more room so if you get picked up early get those seats first! We got picked up in a nice car but then dropped at a petrol station for 30 mins where we waited for the minivan. Got to chiang rai after about 5 hours in total since leaving chiang mai. If I was in a better seat it would have been fine I reckon.

We were picked up a few minutes later than advised, but not so late that we were worried about it. There were 2 more pickups after us and then we thought we were on the road to Chiang Rai. After around 30 minutes, we pulled into a service station, where we were asked to get out, supposedly because the air conditioning wasn’t working very well in the original minivan and they were going to switch to another van. While waiting in the heat for over 30 minutes 3 or 4 other vans/cars also deposited their occupants at the same service station. Eventually we were told to get into another minivan, which we quickly realised was very full, including two people sat up front with the driver. We then sat still in the van with no air conditioning working for another 30 minutes while the driver and a driver from another minivan had a long discussion and several attempted phone calls, presumably to their boss. When we did eventually set off, we were a lot more cramped than the original minivan and the aircon was no better. Had expected to arrive in Chiang Rai at around 3pm, but was around 5.30 when we were eventually dropped off. The cost had been double what we would have paid on the bus, and in hindsight I wish we’d caught that instead as the busses usually give you a lot more space.

The bus took us in advance, it's cool but the people on the bus had a different schedule and thought we were late, and we received unfair and inappropriate comments... The driver's driving was too aggressive, making the journey quite unpleasant. Otherwise, we arrived on time and even early.

The driver was simply driving too fast passing dangerously. It was very uncomfortable. Especially through all the construction zone. We arrived an hour early. No reason to go so fast. .
