The car took a long time to leave, making three stops before reaching our destination. We arrived in Chiang Rai an hour and a half later.

Driver came late and didn’t speak anything but Thai (fair enough, but when the minivan is packed with Europeans and he had a lot of information to give about drop off, rest stops etc, of course it was confusing. Pre empting this with a card with information on or previously giving us the information online would have helped), so there was a lot of guesswork and communication through Google translate. Luggage went on the roof and we got to Chiang Rai safely, so alls well that ends well.

At first the driver was more than one hour too late. It was a horrible trip. The driver was too fast, although the road was bad and he overtook almost every car or lorry even though he couldn‘t see anything. I had fear of death. It was the most horrible trip I ever made.
