We were crammed into the back of the bus laying in sleeper beds that were 5 side by side with no separation. 4 larger size men and 1 women made for a very uncomfortable ride. This is where we were directed to go even though there were other empty beds. Spent three hours basically touching the people on either side of us. Not fun. We were also frantically transferred to a shuttle for final short trip into Hue. Probably running late because there was so many stops along the way to pick up people.

In the evening before departure I was told I have to take a different bus, departure at 7 am instead of 10.30 am. The bus was far less comfy than the one I booked. I got a refund of 50k, which was only a small amount compared to what I paid.

Booked a Bus at 10:30 am; one hour later we received a message from the bus company, that the bus is leaving at 09:40 am… basically it was ok, but the schedule is wrong. It takes 3,5 hours from dong hoi to hue.

We were dropped off at some bus station, not at the railway station which was the official drop off as per the voucher. The bus staff didn’t care when we told them this. We had to take a Grab. Otherwise the ride was fine.

It was a mixed bag. On the minus side, I received an ambiguous and anonymous WhatsApp message the night before telling me the location and time of pickup had changed. The onboard ‘steward’ was hassled and unhygienic. The bus was late leaving, even in comparison with its revised time. The bus did not stop where it said on the ticket, but instead stopped on a motorway petrol station forecourt where we were loaded into a minibus. Nothing was explained during the journey. On the plus side, we were given a free shuttle bus from our hotel to the bus, the bus was comfortable and fast, a second free shuttle was provided to our destination hotel, and we got there on time.

Id of preferred a seat over a bed. Its too small for someone my size to be comfortable. Being 6 foot 2 makes it very cramped.

The ticket said drop-off location is Hue Railway Station, but ultimately ended up being Hue Bus Station. Other than that, the staff was very friendly.
