Bus is extremely tight for anyone slightly taller. While the advertised time was 4 hours from Tam Coc to Cat Ba, our trip ended up taking 6 hours.

Full Moon Party bus was fantastic in its communication on pick-up point and time from my homestay. However, it's a basic bus, more suitable for backpackers. There is little legroom for the seats and you are squashed when the person in front reclines their seat. Upon reaching Cat Ba island, a staff from the company boarded the bus and facilitated the drop offs at or close to the hotels where the passengers are staying.

The driver was on time - seemed a bit rushed - and drove safely, but he was very ill (sneezing and coughing badly all the way). I think that's rather irresponsible given many people are in a closed off space for quite a while.

Our driver showed up at 6:30 am instead of 8:00 am with a very small car. The reception told him we would be ready for 7:45 am but needed a bigger car. He did get a larger car for 4 people with luggage. He was a good driver. Other than trying to rush us it was good.

The bis ride was ok. Not very clear if we had the right bus, but that turned out ok. The bus driver was supposed to drop is off at the hotel, but instead we were dropped of somewhere and we had to walk up the mountain with our bags.
