The cleanliness of the train was good. However, the fan that couldn’t be adjusted was very uncomfortable. The mattress was quite hard, and the train was very noisy. I would rate the train as average. We arrived at the station with a one and a half hour delay, which is quite a lot.

A few days ago, a typhoon in Sapa blocked the road. We wanted to ask customer service whether the train was running, but we couldn't get in touch with any customer service. The service was terrible!

It did arrive quite late but that was not surprising given there had recently been major flooding from a tsnuami. It was impressive we could go at all. The cabin very comfortable and the staff wee all very helpful.

It was a very old compartment. Contrary to the description, the air conditioning wasn't individually adjustable. It was very cold, especially on the upper bunks, with an extremely cold and strong airflow throughout the night. The noise from the air conditioning was deafening. The night was accordingly disastrous – hardly any sleep!

The Bed collapse half way despite put together back earlier. The Livitran staff refererred a connecting transport ticket to SaPa valley is marketed as a private car but in fact is a cramp mini bus with other touris onboard.
