Family service, more like family disservice, absolutely terrible company. My girlfriend and I were due to travel from Vientiene to Vang Vieng on a transfer that included hotel Vientiene hotel pick-up. As per the travel guide, the passenger should have been dropped from the hotel to the private bus transfer in Vientiene. Instead, the driver was an hour late to our hotel after we had contacted Family service twice. When we were finally collected, the driver spoke very little English and brought us to a rural bus station for our “private” transfer. The driver left without explanation and stranded us in the bus station where our transfer was nowhere to be seen and nobody spoke any English. After some discussion (via Google translate) with the bus station staff, they agreed for us to travel on a public bus service once we had paid the fare. The bus waited in the station for 3 hours without air conditioning before departing. During the process, the bus station staff were helpful and this was appreciated. Family service on the other hand were nothing short of a disgrace. This company knowingly stranded two customers in a rural bus station and put us in a difficult situation. This also happened with multiple passengers on board our current public transfer so it seems to be a regular occurrence. DO NOT USE FAMILY SERVICE!

Pickup was punctual. Must people were ready at their respective hotels except a group of locals who had not finished breakfast so we had to wait 20 minutes. IMO the driver should not wait - if they're late it's their problem. Then tanked up. Then passed out hotel 1 hour after being picked up there But when we finally got glon the highway to VV it was fast and smooth. Just too much racing about back lanes in VTN.
