Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng destination reviews
van Regional 14pax, Naluang, Feb 25, 2019
we didn’t get collected from our hotel till 9.50 after our hotel calling the company and then we got charged extra for being out of town and we didn’t receive an email or call telling us this. You then get dropped at a bus station 30min walk from town. The minivan is very cramped with everyone’s luggage anywhere it can fit. However good driver and the van was clean.

IT was a long bumpy ride. The breaks of the car were nog good si iT was dangereuses too. We had to fix them once we were down the hill. The views on or way were absolutely stunning

The contact number didn’t work, and it was difficult to find a new one to confirm the pickup in the morning. The bus a bit smaller and less room for the legs than in others. The final ststion a bit far from the center of the city. The driver was very careful though and brought us safe and sound to the destination.

Too much luggage inside the van.Hardly any legroom..Not so comfortable ride.

Very small mini van, and a Bumby road. Made 3 stops along the way, 1 toilet stop, one stop I don’t know, and one lunch stop. Left the station at 10.30am and arrived at 4pm

Very good journey, experienced and punctual driver. The road conditions are poor, but the journey was made in the best possible conditions.

Super bumpy roads & took longer than expected but the scenery was beautiful. If you don’t mind your head occasionally hitting the ceiling, the extra stops to pick up & drop off locals & want to enjoy the scenic views this is the ride for you!

The reasons for this negative feedback are cumulative. - we left and arrived late (normally not a problem, it’s SEA, but this time I am unhappy). - we arrived at the bus stop outside the city and the only option to go on was a flat-rate tuk tuk (20.000 kip p.p., because “everyone pay same”) - we were picked up from our hotel in Luang Prabang and then told at the main bus station, that our hotel was outside the zone and we had to pay extra (10.000 kip p.p.) before we would get our ticket. Yes, 12go also states that this might be a possiblity, but also that we will be informed by email beforehand about this. We received an email informing us about our hotel being outside the zone half an hour after our actual mini van journey began. The lady at the counter was not open to talking to us, kept insisting we pay while sending text and voice messages on her phone (probably informing someone they had forgotten to send the mail) and processing other costumers ahead of us. The day before we had called the local hotline to confirm our pickup time from our hotel (actually great call, helped us save some time by accurately letting us know when we had to be ready) and they also didn’t inform us of the charge. Overall not a happy customer, mainly due to the unfriendly service at the main bus station. In general the journey from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng was very bumpy- nothing the operator or bus driver is at fault for, just an information. We had several breaks, including a half hour lunch break.

Pick up before minivan was not clearly communicated - minivan was fine

The driver was driving recklessly.. I think he forgot there are brakes in the vehicle.. he just kept driving at full speed at roads which were broken and all ..
van Regional 14pax, Naluang, Dec 16, 2018
Everything fine, but you really have to be 60 min before departure sharp - nobody is answering the Phone and pick up is very early
van Regional 14pax, Naluang, Dec 11, 2018
We were forgotten at our hostel and nobody contacted us. After waiting for almost two hours and calling hotline about 5 times (they kept on putting the phone down on us), they picked us up and put on a later bus. The driver and van itself were good. If we hadn’t called, they would have left us behind.
van Regional 14pax, Naluang, Dec 2, 2018
We arrived about an hour early which was good but you then have to get a taxi from there to the town for 20,000kip per person. The bus was full with 2 more people than seats, luckily one was a child and the other sat on a box. The only option really but not a bad journey.

I booked to arrive at 3 p.m. and arrived at 5:30 p.m.. The toilet was out of order and they did not stop for hours.
van Regional 14pax, Naluang, Oct 15, 2018
Prompt pickup and arrived quicker than expected at destination. Avoid the back seats as it can be very cramped with luggage etc.
van Regional 14pax, Naluang, Oct 9, 2018
We know the streets are bad from luamg prabang to vang vieng, so thats not to judge. But the driver drove recklessly throughout the whole trip and so we didn't feel save at all..

Prompt pick up, easy transfer at the bus stop, and an efficient drive to Vang Vieng. You can’t expect luxury travel in Laos but this option is definitely worth opting for. It can get a little bumpy due to the roads... but this isn’t at any fault of the company. The drive included a 45 minutes stop for lunch which I would have preferred to avoid so we could get there faster, but the rest of the minivan stopped and enjoyed so who am I to talk. Including 1 toilet break (about an hour and a half in to the journey) - 15 minutes, and a toilet/lunch stop (squat toilets and plentiful menu with snacks) - 45 minutes, the total journey time was 10am - 3pm (5 hours, would be 4 without stopping). Avoid the back two seats as they are in amongst the baggage and it can get very cramped, otherwise all seats were fine (as I said, not luxury but not “squished in like sardines” like a lot of reviews online suggest).

If you are travelling the world to see and experience the world as it is then book this trip......... If you expect European or western world style level and standards thus your expectations are such do yourself a less adventurous favour and take a plane and have your mum pick you up at the other end.......... This is local transport that has found the world of tourism to fill its seats so we were about 7 foreigners and 12 Laos nationals on the coach. A very tired and battered coach at that as the roads are full of holes and land slides. Impressively the diggers were out clearing the roads very quickly so we were only waited thirty minutes. ......... The roads are such I would not be putting shiny new half million dollar coach through that either so they are making it work with ehat they have with everything thrown at them. ........ The coaches and passengers are thrown about as it winds its way around the beautiful mountain roads so it needs a driving style that would scare most but remember these guys have done this trip a thousand times and the guy driving did an excellent job......... This is a world of fix the old albeit even in a very patched sense to keep the service running. They are local drivers and employees so don’t expect them to speak English, they are polite, work hard and get the job done and you get a lunch stop half way thrown in with the ticket. The coach also stops a couple of times so you can use the toilet........ Locals rock up with box upon box of needed supplies to get them home to their isolated villages, this can take time so, yes the coach can leave late, that’s how this world ticks, be patient and enjoy your journey with a smile and you will get a smile back....... Oh yes, their seat belts were there but not all of the. worked. My seat was lose and I almost tipped into the isle. So now you can make an informed decision. Would I do it again; yes!....... I broke my trip up from Luang Prabang to Pakse up with a stop in Luang Prubang and Vientiane. So,you will probably see more reviews from me....... Enjoy life’s journey.
