I recommend not travelling from Chiang Mai to Bangkok with this company. The buses are not particularly comfortable, and although there is a toilet, there is no sink, so you can't wash your hands after using it. The bus stopped at a rest station where we could eat at our own expense (in contrast to other companies that offer a meal on the bus). We left Chiang Mai half an hour late, and we arrived in Mochit an hour and a half after the time scheduled. Generally, an underwhelming experience.

Very different from my first experience. The first time I took a sleeper bus it was wonderful. The bus had a single seat on each side of the aisle and the seats truly reclined. It was a wonderful experience. I arrived in Bangkok rested and ready to see the city. When I went to book my trip this time I could see that the configuration of the buses had changed. They all had one seat on one side and 2 on the other and none of the seats were as big as the seats on my first ride. The foot rests on the seats we had were useless as there was no room for our feet - it just jammed our feet into the wall in front of us. We were only able to partially recline. I understand that more money can be made this way - but it won't be from me again. They came through and took our blankets away from us a full hour before we reached Mochit Station. It was somewhat cold - I could really have used my blanket a little longer. An hour before arrival was premature. We arrived in Bangkok tired and haggard. We went to our hotel and took a nap.

We rode the express 10 overnight sleeper train.Tickets were easy to pick up for the hotel lobby across from the station. We travelled 1st class. The seats and beds were reasonably comfortable, the blankets were a little old and worn with small rips in them. It took a bit to work out how to get the shower to work. The food was nice (dinner and breakfast) and reasonably priced. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We travelled as a family of 6, so a shared cabin with door in-between for 4 of us and the other 2 a few doors down, staff allowed us to pay for service for all 6 of us together. There were some beautiful views along the way when we were awake.
