Bangkok to Trat Destination Reviews

In the van was really hot and no space at all. We bought extra ticket for backpack but there were no place for it anyway. So we sat pretty much everything on our laps. Van was pretty much on time but the driver didn’t speak any english.

Everything was good: left and arrived right on time, good driver. Not much space was the only inconvenience

Please note, that there is absolutely NO space anywhere to store ANY luggage except the tiny place between the seats in each row (read: this place is shared by 3 seats) which might suit something a bit smaller than the dimensions of an allowed hand luggage from planes! Don't even think about the space between the rear seats and the door, because they squeezed in an additional row of seats in the back. Between this and the backside door is about 20-25cm of space. The only chance to get in a backpackers backpack in is to book an other seat (as recommended by the operator) OR (and this comes without any warranty!) you take a ticket which has the lowest rates. The reason why the tickets are that cheap is, that the departure or arrival times are extremly bad, so they try to get the bus full by lower rates. But on weekdays there is a high chance, that this does not work, so there might be space on the free seats. But again: due to the no refund policy this is a hit or miss thing! Driving itself is fast (note the occasional beeping *g*) and there is only one stop at that very well known fuel station. If there is traffic jam, the drivers know which sideroads to take to avoid it, so schedule is kept most of the time. It is possible to get dropped directly at the place of your desire, if it is along the route - use Goggle maps if you don't speak Thai and want to discuss this with the driver. Be aware that your credit card may be declined for payment, because they do a 0B/0$/0€ transaction in advance, which most credit card institutes decline because of security reasons. PayPal is working, but the fees are double (and this is not mentioned anywhere, so you get the surprise when doing the payment).

The instructions you emailed me were very useful thank you; particularly the photo of the booth (No24) that made it really easy. 12Go made this arrangement very easy. The journey to Trat was all good apart from the driver watching videos on his phone whilst driving. Not safe when you are responsible for 11 people

Transport was on time throughout. Staff at bus station were helpful. It was a bit confusing at the ferry terminal but otherwise a smooth journey. It’s also a bit cramped in mini bus but if u have time and want to travel cheaply this is ideal.

Depending on the van type, each vehicle can accommodate between 12 and 15 passengers. Yet an evident drawback of travelling by van is limited space for the luggage. Though some routes feature a lot of departures, we still highly recommend booking your seat especially if you are going to take one of the last vans of the day; travelling during weekends, public holidays or busy tourist seasons; are in a group of two or more and want to travel on the same van.
