Noemi RWith Good Morning Cat Ba company the experience was good but the the first part of our trip (from sapa to Hanoi) was with Sao Viet, even though on the website the entire trip was sponsored under the name good morning cat ba.
Sao Viet should really improve their safety policy and hire more professional staff .
And also provide more transparency regarding the fact that there are two different companies involved.

Anton LThe bus was great and comfortable but the staff at the office in Sapa was RUDE. No smile no English, nothing.
The transfer time in Hanoi was way too long.
Hopefully they will learn to be friendly and adjust their schedule so that the trip only takes 8 hours instead of 12.

2 hr 30 min wait for bus to cat ba, quite hot and seated up right bus to ferry port

The bus stop so many times, to pick up small cargo. The driver droved like crazy.
Very bad experience.
We changed bus, that was quick and nice, especially because the second bus was great, but also stop many times.

Jens HAfter getting food poisining before the trip they were really forthcoming in spontaneously delaying my trip to the next day even though thenticlet in itself was nonrefundable. So great service and the ride itself was pleasant too.

Arup DWhile travelling from SaPa to cat ba . First part of journey was not great as there was lot of mis communication once they told they will pick us up from hotel which was on the way to Hanoi (jnk SaPa home say n swimming pool) then they text me to come to office as they won’t be able to pick up saying roads are too crowded and lot of jam on road for 11:30 pm bus (what a joke ) entire town was drop dead after 7:30pm may the traffic jam was on her mind jokes apart . The front desk people of sao SaPa bus office is very rude and bad . This was bad part but the remaining part from Hanoi to cat ba was good one guy came along with us for the entire journey till cat ba hotel . Even though the bus from Hanoi to port was cramped (very less space in side ) no complain so far for that as my love for SaPa is too much . Guide from Hanoi to cat ba was really good . This was for 14-15 feb journey 2026
