My flight was scheduled for 5:40am and we took off 3 hours late. I got an email the evening before saying the flight was moved to 8am which was frustrating but rearranged my plans to be at the airport later. The check in counter staff was not very helpful or friendly and was very strict on the exact weight of my checked bag- so make sure you weigh your bag beforehand (I had to repack at the counter). I haven’t had this experience when being over by one or two kilos with other airlines in Vietnam. I got through security, and waited to board which started late. We spent about 15 minutes just standing and waiting on a bus to go to the plane. We eventually took off after 8:30, 3 hours after the scheduled departure time. If you’re not on a schedule, travelling light and don’t mind unpredictability then this is still a quick and relatively inexpensive option to go from Saigon to Phu Quoc.
