Chiang Mai to Pai Destination Reviews

TM
Went from Chiang Mai to Pai. Great driving, very safe. Pick up point a little out of the city but all good. It said transfer bus+minivan but maybe they meant you have to go outside of the centre to go to the pick up point by yourself. It's just a minivan from there, no transfers.

The pick up location is not clear as there are two bus stations, myself and others went to the large bus station out of the city. Wrong one. Apparently it happens all the time we had to get a taxi over to the correct very small station about 10min drive, the taxi called the company to tell them we were on our way. Please make it clear which bus station. Minibus was nice, driver was ok, a few dodgy overtakes which is normal for Thailand. Had to stop to let the brakes cool for 15 mins. The route is very twisty, up and down hills. Driver made a restroom stop which was good. Upon reflection catching a bus at the main station is much cheaper if you are on a budget.

Listen, we all know the drive from Mai to Pai is rough, but the driver wouldn’t pull over when we asked him when we were getting sick (which was part of the reason we booked a private driver) and wouldn’t let us put the window down to get fresh air when we were feeling sick.

Brought the wrong ticket. Operator won’t change. Poor customer service. In short don’t make a mistake because they won’t help or change tickets

Paying that little extra meant we had a newer and more comfortable van. Check-in was easy. The driver was very funny and a very careful driver.

Our driver was careful with driving the crazy roads. He was thoughtful and stopped when we needed. He made us feel comfortable and was super polite! We would highly recommend.
