Cleo BWe were late to book our tickets so only managed to get 2nd class seats. The toilets qe very good and the AC worked well. You are provided a blanket too which is a nice touch. Once leaving Vientiane you travel 10 minutes across the friendship bridge and then you get off again to go through immigration. The seats aren't the comfiest and they leave the lights on all night. Id also recommend booking directly through the railway company as the information from 12go did not match the reality of the booking. E.g. according to 12go train arrives in Bankok at 5:30am however its actually scheduled to arrive at 7:30am.

Michael Comfortable train journey into thailand. Train station was quiet and orderly. We did have to pay 10k kip for leaving the country but after some research border officers are allowed to charge for overtime fee. It isnt much money but I dont like supporting corruption.
The train was tidy and comfortable with clean bed sheets and bedding provided. Toilets were good too but bring your own toilet paper as it runs out fast.
Otherwise a great journey I actually enjoyed!

Steven LEasy and straightforward. Just need to get back to Bangkok from Vientiane. This was a cheap and efficient way. 3rd class isn’t the most comfortable but it is fun and scenic if you’re willing to bear through several hours of sitting. Highly recommended if you’re in a pinch, or simply just want to get from A to B.

Mica SThe booking was easy, the driver was great and everything went smoothly. When our tickets were not available were quickly notified and given other options. The only downside was not being able to select seats for the sleeper train.

Emma LThe car was clean. The beds were good enough to sleep there. It was worth the money for sure. I got the pillow and the blanket. The only thing is that the AC was pretty cold so I was freezing while outside it was nice 23 degrees.
