Malcolm Dthe ticket picked up station was for a diiferent time to the booking. I had a 3 hour wait at the station as I was already there and had checked out of my hotel.
Should have been notified by email of the change as my mobile number does not work in Laos.

Elinor Very efficient. Be advised, you can't take liquids over 100ml, or anything else that might be restricted on an airline. You get your bag checked when you enter the station.
The train itself is very new, and they were very efficient. The staff expect you to stay in your assigned seat.
The station isn't really designed for western tourists, and not all signage is in English. Most of the staff speak either Lao or Mandarin - it is more geared to Chinese tourists.
