The train is ok. The diningwagon is in Direstrait for a good cleaning, as well as the chef ????. Eat well before entering or stay hungry

Bring your own food and water as it’s a bit pricey and not the nicest on the train , air con was on a bit high but I got a few extra blankets keep your cabin door shut in the morning as there are a lot of mozzies!! Man on train was rude and unhelpful but if you walk up and down you can find cleaners who were a lot more friendly! 12go booking was great I always use them for travel in Asia this trip was perfect but they overbooked in Bangkok so a couple had to wait for another bus. Just make sure you leave time in between if you have a flight or ferry as you can’t control transport delays

Train Surat Thani to Bangkok.. the company itself are great to use but if you are travelling whilst trying to arrange the booking please remember to check in to your messages regularly tickets really are sold very quickly and ticket collection is busy and chaotic with many people collecting - be there early it’s a woman or man wandering around with a clipboard with your name on and an envelope containing the collected tickets - coach same thing get there early you need to find collection person or booth .. food is not great on the train and no stops .. much better on the coach you are given food and drinks with a smile and a food hall voucher - several stops to visit markets

My experience of the airport was poor sign posting. Trying to find my way to the only hotel was abysmal.

The feet step was broken. So I had a terrible night. The screens didn't work. And we arrived 3,5 hours earlier then subscribed..

The trip, and the booking process, was everything a traveller could hope for. It was extremely simple and straightforward to book, and we received our booking confirmation less than a day after paying. 12go's Terms and Conditions attached to the booking PDF are hilarious, in case anyone reads them. Absolute gold. Couldn't have been better. Picking up the ticket was a cinch too.

We went to Bangkok by night train. We had bicycles with us and they cannot go with every train. Tickets for the bicycles had to be purchased separately at the station on the day of departure. Information provision on this was very good. Furthermore, booking the tickets for the night train went very well.

Extremely efficient booking process. Picking up the tickets on the day of was a breeze. Train-wise, it definitely isn't the cleanest / newest / freshest of trains but the beds (lower berth) was very comfortable and there was ample air conditioning. You may have to contend with the regular jawking of wares from the local food hawkers aboard the train, which I honestly think lends more authenticity to the whole travel experience. Train arrived 1-1.5h late so do account for some delays as you plan your trip. Overall, 12go was reliable, efficient and made this a pleasant journey!

This was a great way to travel this long distance. The train was super comfortable and got us to Bangkok well rested. The only downside was that it arrived 1,5 hours later than expected. Just keep im mind if you have plans to travel onwards.

Bus VIP, Krungsiam Tour, Dec 2, 2019
The bus trip was fairly ok, reasonably comfortable and we got to Bangkok in time. I gave only three stars due to several thing that were not as advertised or annoyed us: 1) Arival in Bangkok was said to be in 5:00. We arrived at 5:45. 45 minutes is a reasonable delay, but one that should be considered when planning transfers. 2) It said that bus will drop passengers at "Krungsiam Tour station (Ratchadamnoen Rd.) first, then will go to Southern bus terminal (sai tai mai). In reality the bus has 3 other stops in Bangkok alone, including Khao San Rd. area. Would be useful to list stops, so that people (especially tourists) do not jump out before they should. 3) No information in the bus in English. Not about stops, not about where we are. 4) When buying the ticket, it was said "Bus will stop in the middle of the route for passengers to have a free meal in a local restaraunt". In reality, it did stop, but only for 20 minutes and there was no free meal and too little time to have a meal at all. And again, no information until we asked the personnel three times. (We were fine without the meal, but please do not provide misleading information).

The 12 go service is excellent as usual Overall the ride was comfortable, and the sheets and the carriage were clean. Fortunately, we were not late for the flight despite an hour and a half train delay, according to the staff's indifference this delay was not something unusual The restrooms were clean but very far from comfortable

Por ser primeira classe , eu esperava mais . A cabine não é limpa , a pia dentro da cabine estava suja , encardida , e se vê nas paredes muita sujeira . A cama ok , bem confortável .

We had a 10 min delay but other than that had a great trip. They gave tiny sandwiches during the flight which were very tasty. Airplane in good shape and staff very friendly.

Unlike buses or taxis which have numerous companies offering their services, train service is usually offered by just one major company in each country. As railway service requires a large amount of infrastructure, most railway companies are government-owned and are a part of the national transport system.

One of the best advantages of travelling by train is that railway stations are often conveniently located within or very near major cities and urban areas. Immediately on arrival to their destination, travellers find themselves in close proximity to important facilities like hotels, supermarkets, and hospitals.

If you travel with a lot of bags and luggage, trains are your best option. Luggage weight limits on trains are rather flexible and allow you to carry multiple bags with you.

Special or luxury trains feature sufficient legroom which allows you to stretch your legs and relax. In comfort and space these train seats can be compared to business class airplane seats.

Similar to buses, trains can provide a variety of amenities to make your travel more comfortable and enjoyable. Modern trains have WIFI service, a snack counter and a drinking bar. Onboard toilets can be a life saver for travellers with queasy stomachs.

Lastly, unlike buses and other overland means of transport, trains are very rarely involved in accidents.
