Paul Took the overnight train to Chumphon and then boat to Koh Tao. We really enjoyed the train, second class a/c sleeper. The train set off on time but was three hours late arriving. That was fine by us as it avoided a long wait in the early hours in Chumphon. Apparently not many Thai trains run on time, but the sleeper was great. No complaints from us. Hooked up seamlessly with the boat transfer. All handled well by 12goAsia.

Wolfgang WEverything worked out well. Only could communicate that you have to wait at the station in Chumphon until 6 am until you are picked up.So 2- 3 hours, depending on the punctuality of the train. The connection to the ferry was perfect.

Tove ZWould have been good to display all times before purchase. Luckily the train was 2 h late, so could sleep in and only wait for 1 h for the bus (instead of 3!). Got lucky and could take an earlier ferry, so in the end got there 1 h early.
