The driver does not speak or understand basic english. The beds are made for dwarfs. You cannot sleep because the driving is horrible. There is only ONE stop. The airconditioning is on maximum so you will freeze to death. Unfortunately you have to choose this or a different provider. And all od them are horrible. The positive reviews are lying so do not trust them.

The driver was nice and driving well in terms of Vietnamese standards: that is to say, it can be a bit scary at the beginning for an European like me, but he knows what he is doing. One thing I didn’t like : one seatbelt at the places close to the driver was not working, but it wasn’t its fault..

Bus was on time, arrival was at 5:30am in Cao bang bus station. Bet was comfortable, there were 1 toilet stop, not everyone had a pillow and a blanket, my boyfriend said he was cold the hole night. I had my pillow to the window side & I was very happy with the temperature.

It was a long ride. We had a delaye for 1,5 hours because of other pick ups. The road was very bumpy that got us carsick.

Good thing: We arrived at our destination and were dropped off at our hotel. After waiting for 1 hour our driver arrived. He threw out the trash on the street and helped us carry our luggage into the van. He didn’t speak English and we weren’t 100% completely sure if this was our driver. The ride was fast but had many stops along the way. He drove like Max Verstappen and overtook as many drivers as possible even on the small and narrow roads.

The driver first drove in the wrong direction to take a man with a big bag near the aurport. Then he drove another highway back towards the center of Hanoi. After 1 1/2 hoirs we were on the correct highway direction to north. After a change of the limousine to a small public bus we reached the booked hotel in Ban Gioc 2 hours late at 7.30 pm!

We got there but the driver drove like an absolute madman. I don’t mind a speedy journey but he was overtaking with zero visibility, couple of emergency brakes due to that, drove with screeching tires through the mountain roads. Bus was full of people. We feared for our lives and were glad when it was over.

I booked this the night before and got a confirmation within an hour. Not long after I received a WhatsApp message saying the pick up would be an hour earlier which was fine but just bare this in mind when booking. We got dropped off directly to our hostel which was great.
