One of the better train companies here. While it's a stretch to call this VIP, I did like the services provided. The views were incredible too. The beds were firm but it's expected. The toilet and washroom were nicer than the other train we took. We were given a light breakfast pack and some overnight drinks, which is welcomed. Though, they weren't enough for the 17 hour journey so we got some pot noodles and Bahn Mis before we got on the train and we used them to supplement the food we were given. The boiling water tap was very good and clean too, which helped get the noodles good too.
The train can be loud and rickety so best to have ear plugs.
For the money though, I'd choose a cabin bus instead for a more comfortable journey. The views are just as nice on the buses.
The operator was very friendly and directly approachable via WhatsApp. On the day of travel, I was upgraded to the 2 birth VIP cabin for free!
The service was amazing, the toilets were clean and great snacks and breakfast was provided! I would highly recommend this service!
Smoking was allowed and our cabin smelled. Staff barged into our cabin at 6 am without knocking to sell us crappy coffee. The food package supplied at boarding included a ham sandwich. Please offer non pork options. The whole world does not eat pig. Bathroom supplies ran out half way through the trip with nothing replaced after telling staff. It was not worth $100 Canadian.
No WiFi as it stated on the ticket. We were told the drinks (coke, tea etc) were free but you had to pay. Not that it was an issue but if your told something then that’s what you expect. Other than that everything else was ok.
The bed is okay and clean, but the train is so old and train itself not clean and soooooo noisy, very old train very okd way , very slow, advise all to have it if only short trip not more than 6 or 7 hours
Otherwise flight will be better than train
Excellent trip. Booked a vIp cabin for four- there were three of us so you have to put in one persons details including passport details twice which is allowed. Cabin was clean.. there were some drinks,Christ’s and a breakfast box with bread jam banana yogurt. Sleep was good, toliet was clean and so was was basin. They have. A machine for hot water and cold water so you can bring your own pot noodles.
Although a little small, the cabin was comfortable and luckily we could just fit our suitcases under the bunks! If you had 4 people in the cabin it would have been much tighter!
The little goody bags provided were great!
Was okay without being over the top.
Enjoyed the scenery before dark and dawn.
It's one of those been there done that trips in life.
16 hours maybe I for me just a little too long.
