The ticket stated a random time 10:06 am, which didn’t exist, and it was even later than the official time when the train was starting. The official time was 9:49 and nobody informed us about this. It is very confusing. It’s better to state the official time in which the train starts, so that people can organise their way to the train station more accurately.

Very angry. You sold us a 4-hour trip and it took 8 hours. The driver was very rude. He wanted to drop us off on the outskirts of Luang Prabang, and when we told him the trip was to the post office, he asked us for extra money.

DON’T. This office is NOT professional. Day of the trip they told me a new time and new pick-up location. Got there on time. Confirmed twice on WhatsApp I was in the correct place - someone from that hotel even called for me to confirm. 70 mins later I get a call - the driver was told to pick me up from another location… not even the original spot. In English we say WTF? So the bus went without me. Eventually I got on a regular bus - crowded and hot - to arrive in LP more than 4 hours late and after dark. If the train to LP is not a convenient time- take the train anyway.

The best experience! I could contact them via WhatsApp on their hot line to ask what time they would be collecting me from the hotel. Very kind and punctual. Bus and train very comfortable. Too quick from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang. I also recommend to get the bus in Luang Prabang train station to the city centre for 40.000kip.

Great experience travelling on the high speed railway. Tickets came through a few days before the journey as described. Having a QR code on my mobile made it really easy. The journey was very quick and scenic. Would recommend as an efficient way to travel in Loas, just be aware of the strict stipulations related to your luggage.

Easy ride. It was quick going through security (we just had to take out the Lao wines we purchased so that security can verify there were no snakes/exotic animals in the wine). It was overkill coming 90 minutes in advance but maybe it’s because the day we travelled wasn’t a popular travel day. Space is limited for large suitcases so try to get into the train early. Overall, the train was quick, comfy, and efficient.
