An extremely confusing situation. I booked the 12:30 transfer from Ubud to Nusa Lembongan, and I got a text at 9am telling me I would be collected at 11:30am, as the boat was leaving at 13:30 and I would miss it if we left at 12:30. When I booked it didn’t say what time the boat was, just that I had to be there 1 hour in advance. I argued with the driver for half an hour until I was given a new driver. This new driver had been told I was leaving at 12:30, but now I was panicked as this didn’t leave us enough time to get to the boat, as it was an 1 hour 20 minutes to the pier from Ubud. Turns out there are boats every half an hour and we just got the 2pm boat, arriving 15 minutes before. Thankfully we made our boat, but the whole exchange would have been a lot less stressful if the driver, and the trip company didn’t communicate so poorly.

We had booked a mini bus + ferry transport from Ubud to Nusa Lembongan, departing at 9:30am with pickup from our hotel. We did this instead of booking just the ferry to make sure we would arrive on time, as Bali traffic can be eventful. We were told the night before to meet our driver at 8:30am in the city center, all that was unexpected. Then we were told by the driver to meet him in the city center at 8am! So 1:30 hours earlier than what we had booked, and without pickup… we had to negotiate with him for the pickup at the hotel, with additional charge involved. We arrived at Sanur harbour before 9am, with the boat leaving at 11am. Overall a 4 hours long trip that should have taken 2 hours max. The transportation was okay, even the boat thanks to good weather, but this isn’t what we had booked at all and we had to slightly change plans last minute. The other couple that was in the car with us were supposed to arrive at their destination at 10am, instead they were told by the driver who was nice but laughing at them that their boat would leave at 10am and arrive at 11am at destination. This isn’t what they had booked too, at least they didn’t have to pay additional charge for the pickup. Overall everything was fine but you should be aware that what you book will most likely not be exactly what you will get.
