Siem Reap to Kampot Destination Reviews

AW
We went from Siem Reap to Kampot on an overnight bus and enjoyed excellent service all the way. Left on time. Our drivers were introduced at the start. Our trip and drivers were exceptional, no honking, no excessive speeding, journey was smooth and the beds were liedown flat with pillows and blankets supplied. The AC worked, the lighting great as you could them turn off when ready to sleep. We arrived perfectly on time. 10:10 for comfort and service. I definitely recommend and we look forward to our next trip with Giant IBIS!

If I could, I would give the Siem Reap to Kampot Giant Ibis bus service 3.5 stars but you can only do full stars and it deserves more than 3. The team at the station and the drivers were absolutely brilliant, they were kind and helpful and the people checking you in spoke English very well. The journey was good and on time, but there is a big difference between the single cabins and the double cabins, if you can afford it buy a double cabin/seat/bed for yourself, the single ones are ridiculously small, I’m very short and even I hit my head on the ceiling of the single cabin as the cabin is curved. Having said that I saw a very tall guy (over 1.9mt/ 6ft) survive the night in one of those singles but I can’t imagine he was comfortable. The only other thing I should mention is that the toilet is basically a joke or maybe intended for men only? It is normal for a bus to rock and move, as it is a moving vehicle, which is why every other bus toilet I’ve ever used has a flat floor, and something for you to hold onto, but on this bus, the space where the toilet was, was ridiculously small, forget about the ceiling, there was a curvature, like for a wheel, where the floor should have been which meant that there was very little space between the toilet and that curve, like I said, I’m extremely short and my feet are small and they couldn’t fit in the space that was between the toilet and that curve, the toilet of course was covered in urine drops and I was lucky that I had a SheWee with me otherwise I don’t know what I would have done, if you don’t think you can survive all night without going to the toilet you’ll be better off with a different form of transport or getting a SheWee like I did, there are many different kinds on amazon. Other than the horrible toilet experience, the bus journey was quite pleasant. The staff were super nice and the cabins all had a blanket and a pillow, two each for the doubles, and they smell nice, you could tell that they were freshly washed. There was wifi which worked well for WhatsApp and browsing, but not for downloading a film which is fair. I think overall the service is ok but it would improve with at least one stop for people to go to the toilet. Thank you.
