Bangkok to Koh Samet Destination Reviews

MB
Ordered Bus+Ferry at 09:00. Got there at 08:30, the lady at the counter told us that the bus will leave at 10:00 because there was an "accident". Yeah right. I read online that this exact thing happened to many people. I told her that I don't believe her and she and her co-worker started laughing. It's obvious that they are selling tickets for hours that they don't actually operate in. The "Bus" was a mini-bus. Not a bus. We are traveling with a baby in a carrier, having extra space and a bigger vehicle was important for us. Than, we got to the pier. Again, ordered a Ferry. Got a speedboat. It's a quick ride so we didn't argue. But less comfortable with a baby.

The boat ride is good. The bus journey however is not great because the driver stops every 20-30min to smoke or something. Every journey is about 1.5hours longer than advertised

The woman who handed out the vouchers on the van for the check-in at the ferry terminal was incredibly rude. When I got up from my seat to ask a question, she screamed at me to sit down. When I tried again as she handed out the vouchers, she yelled at me once more and even slammed the door into my face. I am very respectful and always treat people kindly, so I was really shocked. I have visited Thailand many times and have never been treated like this. My day was ruined because I couldn’t overcome feeling upset as quickly as I would have liked to. I wrote an email to 12GoAsia customer service. Their response was polite but very generic and lacked initiative. They said they didn’t know the staff member or even which bus I was on because it was handled by a partner company, which felt dismissive. Simply saying they would “remind” PP Samet of how to treat customers came across as insufficient and not truly accountable.

Selling insurances people do not want or need is tricking the customers. Why is this checkbox activated by default?

We were dropped off at the wrong pier. The ferry people wanted me to buy a ticket. Luckily I found someone at the ferry counter who helped us get on the ferry without having to buy another ticket. The ferry was the big boat, which was slower than the ferry we originally were supposed to take. Other than being dropped off at the wrong pier, the bus ride was great.
