Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng Destination Reviews

KH
I was given the wrong tickets from 12go with someone else’s name, passport number and destination. I repeatedly ask for my ticket to be sent to me and never got it. This company is horrible at customer service and helping customers. They were so unprofessional and unhelpful.

We booked our train departure at noon, which was confirmed. One day before our trip it was postponed to 6pm and we had to change our travel plans

Too much fuse for just a normal train journey (checking passpoet, security check luggage, being 2 hours on site before the Departure, access to the departure Lane only 20 minutes before the departure and queing for new scan of ticket). On the train, not enough Space for big luggage. The train left one minute earlier than planned (on time is not before time).

Communication with company was poor, didn’t receive the tickets we initially booked and had to chase them up 24 hours before our train, ended up being put on a train later that day after sending multiple messages in a row hearing no response. Train itself was perfect but wouldn’t use this again

Only found out that the tickets we purchased through this app months before this weren’t actually bought on their end and we had no tickets whilst I was stood in line in the train station. Have emailed and heard nothing back. Don’t recommend

The disorganisation at the station was down to the fact - they do not accept 12go tickets unless they are converted to another QR code from a different app or are printed - this is not made clear on 12gos part. I had to buy a second ticket at the station because of all this confusion.

2 stars provided because ultimately I did get my train ticket, but really the experience was 1 star. I only managed to work out how to get the ticket from reading other reviews. I booked the tickets with 12Go 3 days in advance of travel but did not receive any kind of confirmation until 8pm the night before travelling (at 12.50). This meant there were many days of confusion and multiple emails to 12Go which only yielded generic email replies. I opted to travel to the station with the hope of get my ticket there. As with other reviews I spoke with a group of local ladies in the corner of the ticket office and did not join the official ticket queue. The ladies were helpful and told me to wait until 12pm. I then saw the ladies waiting at a ticket window for it to open, at 11.50 many many tickets were purchased by the ladies and by some miracle I did get my tickets from them as promised. The whole ticketing system of LCR is clearly under a scam with those within the ticketing office part of it too. I say this because on the official LCR booking app the tickets were sold out immediately when the tickets sales went live at 6.30am 3 days prior to travel date. Overall this experience was extremely stressful and confusing and I would not like to repeat it. If you are reading this as a prospective purchaser then please be forewarned!
