A Chinese woman who tried to kiss a python at a Phuket snake show on Saturday was bitten by the creature. Witnesses say Jin Jing, 29, was in the front row of the audience at the Soi Palai snake centre when two handlers offered her the chance of pecking the python.

The skipper of a boat which rammed and sank a river ferry in Ayutthaya on Saturday has given himself up. The accident occurred at 07:00 on the Chao Phraya River in the central Thai city and injured four people. After the crash, the skipper fled the scene.
