Annual Phuket Boat Show kicks off today

Today sees the start of the perennially popular Phuket International Boat Show. The 13th show in the series is being staged at the southern Thai island’s Royal Phuket Marina and will run through until Sunday.

The expo’s organisers say visitors will have the opportunity of getting up close and personal to luxury vessels such as the Monte Carlo Yachts MCY86 and Gulf Crafts Oryx. Andaman Marine Consultants is coordinating the show and managing-director Andy Dowden said that although the aim of exhibitors was to market their services and products, the expo offered so much more.

He continued by saying that the event showcased the abundant attractions of Phuket and its stunning marine environment. As well as yachts and cruisers, exhibitors are promoting everything from marinas to condominium units. Rolls Royce Thailand is the icon of the luxury marques with a stand at the show.

Mr Dowden noted that more than 5,000 visitors attended the event in 2015 and for many it was their primary motive for travelling to Phuket. Phuket International Boat Show is open from 11:00 to 19:00 every day until 10 January 2016.

The Royal Phuket Marina is located at Koh Kaew and is about 10kms north of the island’s main bus station. People travelling by bus to Phuket will find 12GO ASIA offers a hassle-free ticket reservations service.
