We booked Patong Hotel Transfer-Koh Lanta Saladan Pier; hotel pickup in Patong Phuket and 1.5 hr speed boat to Koh Lanta. Booking online was easy, pickup time at the hotel email was sent the night before. Nice driver and van. He came out to get us at the lobby. Once we arrived at the Rassada Pier, Phuket we walked to “Bundhaya” counter, signed in then they told us where to go. It was very well organized. I recommend this company! P.S. there are plenty of ride you can book to get to your hotel at the pier in Koh Lanta. Our hotel sent us a ride, but if your hotel doesn’t provide that, don’t worry there are plenty waiting outside the pier (We paid 200 Baht from my hotel “Long Beach Chalet” to the pier on our return trip as our hotel only provided arrival ride).

The boat part of the trip was excellent. We left on time, easy check in, clear info etc. the issue we had was on arrival to Koh Lanta, the boat crew asked if we needed a taxi. A driver wearing one of the boat companies shirts approached us with a taxi tariff board showing prices. He quoted 800B by Tuk tuk or 1200B by car. We discovered on arrival to The hotel the actual cost by car should be 700B, so we’d been scammed! He also tried the he didn’t have any change scam and would come back with it. Luckily I was able to get the right amount….. so the boat part was 5 stars, but be warned not to use their transport reps for onward travel, they use fake prices.

The departure was a bit chaotic. We thought we would be able to get on the boat with the e-ticket but we were turned away and told we needed a boarding card. We had to queue to get the boarding. Are at a desk with a long queue and ont just caught the boat. The trip was very un comfortable because they stored some of the cases under the seats so I couldn’t put my feet down on the floor and the seats were very narrow so we were packed in line sardines.

Speedboat ride left roughly on time and arrived at my destination 15/20 mins late. Ride was extremely bumpy at first but got better the further out to sea we got. Boat seemed older than other providers. We stopped to drop off people at Phi Phi island as well.

It’s a quick but very rough 1 hour 20 minute trip from Phuket to Koh Lanta. You basically just sit there and watch whatever/whoever is in front of you and hope the ride is over soon. That being said, I’d still recommend it to go quickly from A to B!
