Mochit to Chiang Mai Bus Terminal 3 Destination Reviews

SD
The bus was very good, comfortable seats, with air conditioner and blankets. We got water and cake. The staff didn’t know English at all, they didn’t inform us anything. When we went on the food break they didn’t say for how long and that we can get free food with our ticket. So a lot didn’t know about the option and came late for the bus after it left the food court

I was charged 40$ USD for 2 carryons. That was more than my flight WITH seat selection. I did not appreciate that at the airport after 3 flights and it feels like a huge scam.

The bus seats were comfortable, you can recline but not sit up properly. They give you one snack, water and lunch/dinner. The staff was nice and helpful. Its quite cold so get a jumper or something.

This trip from Mochit to Chiang Mai, was booked by me for 2 friends and their 6 year old girl. It seems one of the train staff was rude and grabbed the little girls arm and pulled it, resulting in a "sprain" noted from the hospital visit. I believe there will be contact with the Police and/or Train company about this staff member. Beware of your children here. P.S. Good luck with parking.

We traveling last 13 august between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. TRAIN 51 CAR 11 5 minutes after our arrival on bord, one very impolite and very nervous man arrive for ticket control. I start to speak strong with my son (9 years) without reasons. "TICKET TICKET TICKET QUICK QUICK !!!! I make my son afraid. During all the trip he try to find an occasion for make us under pressure. It's an absolutly sad and inacceptable situation. I decide to make complain to SRT because i'sure this stupid and poor MSN do that with many many FARANG (As he said) HE hate to receive foreigner on bord and he hâte FARA. Easy to see that. At the begining i think in myself hé joke. But no.

Seats in bus were fine but service was poor. Purser lacked the hospitality we got used to in Thailand. As soon as he could he handed out the bottle of water and snacks. After that we almost didn't see him. He sat in the front with the driver. Now and then he made his announcements, all in Thai although the majority of the passengers were foreign. We didn't know that we had a break and that we could get a free meal by showing our tickets or how long the break was. The stop we had was also poor, the restrooms were dirty (the toilet in the bus was also dirty), the place and meals didn't look appealing. We departed from Mochit at 9.19 p.m. and arrived at Chiang Mai Bus station at approximately 6.30 a.m. instead of 7.50 a.m. I’m not sure how fast the driver was going, but we arrived over an hour earlier than scheduled. Parts of the road were in poor condition, and with the driver’s speed, the ride was quite bumpy. I hardly got any sleep. Overall, I expected a better experience. I wouldn’t book this bus ride again or recommend it to others.
