The train arrived at the destination in time. Friendly service, relatively clean, aircon cool but not too cold, the bunks are big enough even for most europeans and there is a power socket.
The air conditioning broke down. The train stopped for an age while they tried to fix it. It worked for about 5 minutes then broke down again. So the train was very hot and arrived 90 minutes late. A nightmare journey.
It was still worth the price - it was much cheaper than the bus, there was a toilet, and food vendors, so it was okay. But we arrived about two hours later than the stated time. Also, there was no option for me to buy two seats next to each other, so my friend and I were awkwardly sitting in different parts of the car.
The voucher gave the wrong boarding adress/coordinates
When arrived at the correct place, just in time, the company blamed me for not checking the website, which is completely in Thai…
We had a really good experience on the train from Udon Thani to Bangkok in the sleeper bunks. Beds were pretty nice and we got lots of sleep. Pillow and blanket were nice too! Would definitely recommend train travel in Thailand
