Kampot to Phu quoc I have mixed feelings about this service. The communication with the manager was good, and he tried to be helpful but there was not enough information about how things were going to work at the booking time. This is not a seamless bus journey from A to B, which was not clear at the time of booking. First you get on a car/SUV in Kampot, with a driver that speaks very little English and then he drops you off at the Cambodian border and takes your photo so he can send it to a driver who will eventually pick you up on the Vietnamese side. The thing is, if you have a heavy suitcase, like I did, then good luck, because wether it’s raining or the scorching sun is burning your skin you’ll have to drag your bags across for about 500 metres. First you enter the Cambodian section then they check your passport, then you have to exit the massive building, go across a carpark, which I imagine is political limbo as you are neither in Cambodia anymore but you haven’t entered Vietnam yet, then you drag your bag further and enter the Vietnamese border control building and the first thing they do, even though you just dragged your bag under the 35°C sunshine and your face is boiling and sweating, is to check your temperature, without any warning a security guy points a thermometer gun to your head and checks that you haven’t got fever… then they check your passport/visa and then you can leave the building and get to the gate where your passport gets checked one more time, oh yeah your passport will get checked like 4 times from the moment you get to the gate at the Cambodian border till you exit the Vietnamese one and you are finally in Vietnam. I would also like to point out that very few people speak English or any other language other than the local ones in these two buildings and a few of the people were super rude, also they will suddenly ignore you if a local shows up. A couple of times when my passport was being checked, a local showed up and jumped the queue handed their passport to the guy that was checking my passport, and the guy stopped checking my passport and dealt with the local who had just jumped the queue. It was bizarre and this wouldn’t have happened at an airport. So after having gone through that weird cross-border experience and having carried and dragged your bags from one country to the other you’ll exit the building and walk another 50 mts wondering where the next driver will be, but you’ll see no-one, there is a restaurant/shop where you’ll have to wait and only when you contact the manager/owner, he’ll tell his driver to get to you. Then that driver might wait for other passengers, while you are waiting, the driver takes a photo of your passport so that they can buy your ferry ticket in advance, I kept telling the driver that we needed to catch the ferry but he kept telling me to relax because we were 10 minutes from the ferry. We waited but no one came. In the end I had to contact the manager again to tell him that we needed to go or I was going to miss the ferry. The manager got in touch with the driver who finally decided to stop waiting for the other people but now we were late and the driver had to speed all the way to the port, it is not a 10 minute drive it’s more like 15 mins and luckily we got there about 4 minutes before the ferry was due to depart. Once again you are dropped off at the entrance and are told to go and get on the ferry, at least this time they have your ticket already so you can just drag your bags again for about 20 metres and get on the ferry. Which was quite nice and relaxing after all that anxiety inducing experience. So yes, I did not miss the ferry, I got there just in time, and yes I was taken from Kampot to the ferry that takes you to Phu quoc, but it’s not like taking a bus that takes you from A to B and all of this process should be explained before you buy the ticket. Especially the fact that there’s a change of drivers and that you are not assisted at the borders. Perhaps all of this would be fine for someone with a small backpack or something but not really if you have suitcases. Had I known all of this I might have chosen a different path.

Best service ever! I had booked a mini-van-ride from Kampot to Phu Quoc one day before. The company contacted me via WhatsApp to confirm everything and answer all my questions. As I arrived 30 minutes early at the pick-up-location, the company contacted the driver who arrived immediately. As it is low season, I was the only passenger so I had a private driver to the border which I crossed walking. Behind it, the second driver - again in a private vehicle - waited for me and drove me to the port where I could directly board a ferry to the island. Everything was perfectly organized and very efficient. It took me only three hours. Highly recommended!

Very good service! We had a problem with our visa and because of that we couldn’t leave the country. The travel agency provided us with new tickets for the next day without any extra charges! Good communication via WhatsApp.
