I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve done one of these in the past and the experience was horrendous. The ferry was delayed due to weather conditions, but they compensated for time as much as possible and welcomed us onto a VIP bus on the other side.

Uneventful trip ; arrived about 30min early in Bangkok There is a meal included within the fare, to est between the ferry arrival and the bus departure. The bus stopped once for about 15min

You take a ferry to Chumphon and then it’s a 8-10 hour bus ride. We got stuck in traffic. And they drop you off just on the side of a street in Bangkok. Nothing terribly bad happened. We were stuck in traffic for a while which means we didn’t arrive until around 12:30-1AM. But it is not a direct ferry that is all I need you to know.

Soi, our driver was just excellent! Very friendly, helpful and a careful driver. We had three breaks with plenty of time on our way to Bangkok to zip a coffee or have a bite. Our Van was not that full, so space for the backpacks wasn't a problem. Would highly recommend this trip.
