The ride from Chumphon to Bangkok was not really great. The driver was noisy, always on his phone and even on FaceTime, which didn’t feel very safe. His phone kept ringing loudly, which made it hard to rest during this early morning trip. Also, the timing was not convenient: we arrived from the boat at 4 AM, then had to wait until 5 AM on a parking lot, and once in the van at 5:15, they stopped us again for 45 minutes at their agency so people could have breakfast. In the end, we only really left around 6 AM. Too much waiting, not very comfortable.

Expect to be late. But otherwise, it’s fine. We left 1 hour late from Koh Tao, and about 30 minutes late from the bus station in Chumphon. Overall, got back to Bangkok about 1.5 hours late. The ferry ride was smooth. Same with the bus.

Bus departure was on schedule but de stop way to long what led to a delay of 40min. Also there was no communication from the busdriver about the duration of the stop.

The bus was very old, chairs were not very comfortable and in bad shape. There was no airconditioning during the trip so it became too hot for all of us.
