Enjoyed every leg of trip: ferry, double-decker bus shuttle, and comfortable sleeper train.
Bus Standard AC, Phantip 1970, Feb 28, 2020
Instructions were very unclear as to where to pick up tickets. We had to walk around on foot until we finally found the company office and were issued our ferry and bus tickets, then had to walk to the ferry ourselves. After getting off the ferry the Phantip staff seemed to have no idea where we were supposed to be going or which bus we were supposed to be on. We finally made it on a bus and were dropped off at another Phantip office an hour and a half later. We then had to wait there for 45mins before a different bus finally brought us to the train station. Wouldn’t travel with this company again.

Very good. Easy. 12GO Asia made life much easier for my family and I. Very well organized! Thanks again!

From hotel pick up, to ferry, to transfer to surat Thani train station - just great. Lomprayah are fantastic! I cannot fault their service and staff. We took the night train from Surat Thani to Bangkok - a different experience for us. The 1st class bed was surprisingly comfortable, but the cabin really looked and felt dirty. We'd heard that train staff are on commission for any food sales they take for each cabin - we politely refused food as we ate before the train ride, and when we asked where the dining car was for a coffee in the morning (rather than having it in our cabin) the attendent simply walked off and didn't answer us. Not at all professional, and made us feel like as tourists we're only good for our money. The train arrived on time, but took an extra hour to reach Bangkok.

chose our hotel and they picked us up 10 mins after scheduled so pretty good. Transferred to pier in mini van all very straightforward. At the pier be sure to have a print out of your e-ticket. Waited around for about 1hr then walked down to end of pier. Boarding the ferry on the other hand not so good. Forced to stand in the sun for a further 25 mins as waited for the delayed ferry. Once on board it was packed. People had remained on board as the ferry arrived from Koh Tao. Some parties got funny about not being able to sit with whole families but not an issue for us. Just split it’s only for a short time. You could sit upstairs but be careful you will get soaked with sea spray. Once docked into Nathon Pier it was easy to find your bus. They told you over a tanoy. One board the coach was comfy and a fairy smooth ride to train station around 1-2 hours. All in all smothly organised and fairly punctual.

The ferry was on time and arrived roughly on time. The connecting bus/van driver was very helpful in looking for us and carrying our bags. That was the only positive. The rest was awful. Dirty smelly boat and toilets. We had to enter the boat through the same entrance as all the lorries and Van's. It was difficult and dangerous to negotiate. We asked for help from four comfortably seated fit young guys from raja ferries they simply laughed and looked the other way. Clearly they found it amusing to see two older ladies struggling up inappropriate ramps with heavy suitcases whilst dodging lorries. This would have been bad enough in my twenties carrying a rucksack but was impossible now. We were expected to try and carry our cases up small step staircases. In the end we were forced to leave our cases unattended next to the lorries. I am very disappointed in the lack of help we received by those guys who sat and laughed. It is the exact opposite of my experiences of people in general in Thailand and other Thai ferry companies. I would not recommend Raja unless you're young and extremely fit or a lorry driver. Shame on you Raja sort out youre staff !!
